"So, "Black History Month" at NYU was celebrated by getting two black individuals fired because of one triggered student." for just only serving food that their culture eats a lot of. wtf? how in the hell is that racially insensitive? all cultures around the world celebrate their culture by the food. but i guess snowflakes cant handle that.

i just spent two weeks in Austin and we had BBQ, greens, koolaid nearly every delicious day after delicious day.

i swear at st patttys day if im offered corned beef, cabbge and spuds im gong to get triggered. NOT!!! that is delicious shit.

Exactly. Black people pull this kind of crap all the time, like getting all uppity about slavery, for example, when most all of the greatest work done by slaves in America was done by them.

- Walk off campus get something to eat and get side eye from NYPD
- Go to Cafeteria at NY fucking U during black history month and have some shit head Aramark employee tell you to enjoy your corn bread and watermelon because "You blacks like soul food". After being given the "I'm not racist because I'm friends with 2 black cooks", Aramark ops manager says "You offended little negro snowflake? LOL"
- Say something online and watch idiots pull out the "Uppity negroes for dummies" playbook. Chapter 5 - I went to another part of the country and ate "black food" and it was delicious.

To move on you need to know what you feel. For a minority to move past racism he or she has to let go of the pain racism has brought them. To move beyond pain one has to remember and re-experience it. It is grief that heals.

If it was just cultural homage through classic dishes no one would have been upset. Kool-Aid is NOT a traditional African American drink, it is viewed as an alternative to fruit juice when families can't afford to buy actual juice. The cultural "shout out" with Kool-Aid is celebrating the extremely high poverty rate among African Americans and is inherently an offensive stereo type associated with living in the ghetto. Not really surprised that people got offended by the "eats watermelon and drinks Kool-Aid" stereo type being celebrated by campus staff.

It healed a long time ago, but for folks who believe it didn't, thank the media for perpetuating racial tensions. None of this shit exists, until it exists, because the media tells you it exists. I live in a pretty diverse city and everyone gets along just fine. People with a divisive agenda, tied to the media, are who to blame. Stop listening to the noise and get involved in your community, where you find real people of all ethnicity, working together in harmony.
