Why should someone's Tylenol be tax deductible?

Also, the goal the bill attempts to achieve is to curb excessive spending on healthcare. People being given gold plated high value health plans encourages needless spending. Also, with the upcoming mandate for comprehensive health insurance, the need for an HSA is mostly removed, so they should lower the deduction.

If you're going to take that logic path, then you should ask why is any medication tax deductible. Believe it or not, doctors "prescribe" over the counter medicines all of the time. And they can be cost effective alternatives to some prescription based drugs.

So to insure everyone, take away from those that were responsible enough to get good insurance. Liberals

Dumbass. Not everyone can afford "gold-plated" health plans. Alot of people can't afford anything at all. I'm tired of this "fuck you" attitude from the right...you whiners are the first to complain if something doesn't go your way. When are you idiots going to realize that having millions of sick people showing up at emergency rooms is killing the system?

The sooner people feel the pain from this monstrosity of a bill, the better. That will help vote all those responsible for it out of office ASAP. I've become active in politics for the first time in my life. If you are sick of what's going on in DC, it's time you become active as well.

So drag everyone down so that its all crap coverage?

Yes. Based on many of the posts here, it's pretty evident that this health care bill is nothing more than the manifestation of class envy among liberals. Forced wealth redistribution, reduce everyone's health care to the lowest common denominator instead of allowing those who earn it to use what they've earned.

The only 'gold plated' plans left are really the government's own...I don't think they are changing with the reform at all.

Still life-time care including cosmetic surgery for many things.

Do you have any idea what an HSA and FSA are? I am curious because these are not typically associated with "gold plated" insurance coverage. Unless you think a high deductible plan is now "gold plated". If you do, then you are as clueless as nobodyknows.

Of course not, that would be silly. Government will still offer excellent health care insurance, as will selected approved unions (probably funded by your taxes.) It's only us private sector parasites that must be crushed into one flat layer of serfs supporting glorious government redistribution.

$2500, LOL@U if you think that's a lot of money when it comes to health care costs.

Like I said, call the whaaambulance.

Nice strawman and way to completely miss the point. Like I said before, you are clueless. How much do you think an ambulance typically costs? How can insurance pick up if the deductible isnt met?

When are you idiots going to realize that people will still be going to emergency rooms. Why spend $10 of your own money when you can use your subsidized healthcare and go to the emergency room and get free medicine.

Tennessee tries to provide healthcare to it's citizens. Providing insurance to those people that either cannot afford it or cannot get it because of pre-existing conditions. it costs the state a lot of tax money and now the tab is $400,000,000 bigger each year because of obamacare mandates.

Where are the tax revenues going to come from when obama kills the economy? The super wealthy? Ask New York how that is working out for them.

Those who get health services and can't afford it either don't pay it and the hospital has to write it off or they file bankruptcy and the hospital has to write it off. Guess who pays the difference? Those with Health Insurance and those that CAN afford to pay cash.

It's obvious what the answer is to me. Single-payer health care that treats everybody equally, and is apportioned according to need. But that makes too much sense to ever work in this selfish, self-centered society.

I suggest you learn what the term "Strawman Argument" means before trying to use it.

It makes you look like a fool.

Of course the "Free" to you and the rest of the dead weight single payer system sounds best, there's lots of other peoples money to spend still. The loony left and their class war against people that are productive is going to turn this country into a shithole, but hey, that's your plan anyway.

you dont understand...this new law changes my current plan...

Your current plan clearly does not meet the minimum standard to qualify as 'health care'.

You are all over the board on this one. You whine that "higher co-pays are killing us," pump your "high deductibles" and then complain that HC is dragging everyone down into crap coverage (the type of coverage you currently have).

So your stance is now to complain about better coverage and a refundable tax credit dependent upon income?

Nice try.

You clearly have no understanding of health insurance, the medical industry and medical care do you?

Have you ever had to pay for major surgery, the ongoing care and treatment even though health insurance pays for most of it?

Costs Go Up while Coverage Goes Down...

With this healthcare bill .... Costs Go Up even more Coverage Goes Down even more...prove to me it doesn't.

The problem is, and those in power know this....people will fuck everyone just to make their lives a little better.

This is what the health care reform is about. Those in power are learning the poor are voting now. They are fucking the middle class by presenting things to the lower that they can just take.

The "getting something for nothing" ideals are what is killing our country. No one wants to work in reality it seems and those that do work do so as little as possible.
