Its like a tight neck and neck auto race and suddenly the right most car comes up with 4 flat tires. The only thing that is missing is Wile E. Coyote with the flat tires, Obama as roadrunner, and the beep beep sound effect.

Lordie, I love the smell of blown minds in the morning. And it lingers still undiminished in the afternoon.

This post is *precisely* why Obama does not deserve a peace award. This country desperately needs to be united amongst itself, and the leaders in Washington are not even trying. Insulting the opposition is not good enough.

You're kidding yourself if you do not think this award will become a punchline for comedians. MSNBC will use this award to justify everything they nitpick against the Republican Party.

Some day you will wake up and realize it's more than just "right wing minds" who have concerns. Take a look around and you should have realized by now that there are a lot of new names in this thread that normally stay the fuck out of P&N.

Biggest fvcking joke ever. All talk, accomplished NOTHING, all while apologizing to murderous dictators the world over, and undermining American hegemony.

And the cutoff for nomination of this prize was 11 days after he took office too.

His 1 and only term can't end soon enough. God help us all.

Man, I really hope they invite Kanye West to the ceremony...

*Kanye steps on stage and grabs mic*

Kanye: Yo Obama, I'm really happy for you & all & I'm gonna let you finish, but Mahatma Gandhi had one of the best Nobel Prize candidate resumes of all time!

Now that would be gold...pure gold...

I note whoozeyer Daddy has at least one thing wrong in saying, "So really the NPP is now worth about as much as an award in one of those kiddie sports leagues where everyone gets a trophy."

Because in the fullness of time, everyone BUT GWB&co may get such a trophy. There are always some who are clearly left out. And no, its not just an accidental oversight in the case of GWB&co.

I said, before the 11/2008 election, that whomever was elected would probably spend the bulk of four years just to repair the damages to the US reputation in the international community. And here Obama does it in nine months. And without international trust, America cannot be effective in advancing its brand of diplomacy.

Did it in nine months? That's funny because my understanding is that nominations had to be in by February 1 and Obama took office on January 20. So that means he "repaired" the damage in a couple of weeks.

Uh....no.

Actually he might have been in longer then that according to the righties who blame him for the original bailout and all the TARP problems which was on numbnut's watch.

I wonder how long it's going to take until the Olympic Committee takes up this practice of awarding people Gold Medals for talking about running faster than the other guys.

You can roll your eyes like you do every other post but Gandhi was far more qualified for the Nobel Peace Prize. I don't think there's any denying that this award given to Obama is a little bit questionable no matter what side of the aisle you sit on.

The "Fail" is that it's not Sweden. If you're going to attempt a snarky comment, at least get your facts straight.

Whaaaaaa. It's almost comical that your hatred is directed towards anyone other than Bush. Almost.
I absolutely despise George W. Bush, which is why I "voted for change."

I'm still waiting -- we all are -- to witness said change, which is what makes this NPP award so fucking ridiculous.

Awesome to hear. At least you have your head on straight. Both of them suck.

yep.

I'm concerned that this is an assassination plot. The Norwegians may be trying to lure him to Oslo.

Honest question. What has Obama done to secure world peace? Nothing.

What did Bush do? Reigned in the Taliban in Afghanistan and overthrew a 2 bit dictator who committed genocide against his own people.

Sounds to me like the Nobel Prize committee has this all backwards.

George W Bush has done more for world peace and stability than Obama has, hands down, and that is a fact.
