And not one of these self sanctimonious posters are a member of that Nobel committee, had they been, the outcome may have been different, but bottom line, they have and had no inputs. So it still boils down to mind over matter, regardless if they mind or not, they do not matter. But somehow these fools persist in the belief that their opinions matter?????????????

And tomorrow and the day after tommorrow ............, they will wake up to the fact that Obama received this year's Nobel peace prize. Because no one asked them.

And they can like it or lump it or live it and learn it. Why should their cognitive dissonance concern the rest of us?

WTF, by your argument, non of us should criticize Bush and his decisions then cause we are not member of the power circle and decision makers. Wow, the length of Obama lovers would go to defend him no matter what....amazing.

So keep shooting.

oh you mean like with Chavez, who has stipped away every vestige of freedom left in Venezuela? Peace and appeasment are two different animals.

I voted for Obama but it wasnt because he is Black, I did so because McCain is a old dinosaur who gave me the creeps. And that 'creepy' feeling grew 10x when I seen him on TV with his mother...she must be 110 or so by now. Just creepy, and his quotes on bombing Iran didnt help.

Besides that, Obama did get a TON of votes solely due to his race. Pretty much all 13% of this countries black population voted, and voted for him. Same with a large number of hispanics...Im going out on a limb here but I have a feeling that the wishy washyness of having the 'First black president in office!!!!!omg!!!!!' contributed to him winning this prize somehow. I dont know how much so, but considering he has done absolutely nothing to truely deserve it thats the only conclusion I can come to. I mean what exactly has he done to warrant it ? Really, what. Not sent more troops to Afghanistan yet ? So what. Thats not a peace move, its strategy. It might not be worth spending more money/lives there. Beyond that hes done nothing aggressive or peaceful, hes still to new to know what hes really all about.

And besides. Even a leader who 'does' go to War can be a peace maker, being like a 'buddhist monk' may be super peaceful and have the pussies in France loving you. But your nation's enemies will love you even more as you allow them to maneuver. Id prefer a midline President such as how Bill Clinton handled things, as opposed to the polar opposite that was Bush Jr [warmonger] or how Obama may turn out [chicken president who backs down when he shouldnt]. Clinton while in no ways perfect, knew when to attack and when not to.

Suck on it, losers!

All I can do is shake my head and pity you, a hollow shell of a human with nothing but hatred propelling him through life.

I'm still trying to find this unanimous world opinion that Obama deserved the award.

Did a single right-winger here say simply, that while they disagree with Obama on issues, congratulations on winning the Nobel Peace Prize, and not it benefits the US? I saw zero.

Soak the right wing in buffalo sauce already.

Personally, I think he won by default. Who the hell else was there this year? Obama may not have swung and hit, but he stepped up to the plate.

What did Bush do? Reigned in the Taliban in Afghanistan and overthrew a 2 bit dictator who committed genocide against his own people.

Sounds to me like the Nobel Prize committee has this all backwards.

George W Bush has done more for world peace and stability than Obama has, hands down, and that is a fact.

Point taken...never even thought of that
That's because you're not delusional like Patranus

It has nothing to do with disagreeing with him on issues. As a matter-of-fact, outside of a couple of lefties trying the typical "Republicans are holding him back" diversion, I don't believe I recall seeing any specific policy discussions. I just don't understand why he won. I'm not angry or mad that he won. There is no accomplishment on the level of say Jimmy Carter which would validate Obama winning the prize. Of course, given that Arafat won the award, it was already tarnished long before Obama won.

Congratulations Obama. You won a Nobel even though for the life of me, I can't figure out what you did to earn it. And I am happy you are donating the money -- let's just hope it isn't to ACORN.

Happy?

US: Taliban has grown fourfold

Taliban-led forces fighting US and Nato troops in Afghanistan have increased nearly fourfold since 2006, according to a US intelligence estimate presented to the US president.

As for Iraq, type Iraq into google and pat yourself on the back everytime you read a heartwarming link

Not much love eh

it's not even a matter of debating his policies... it's a question, at least in my mind, of how can you celebrate policies for which we haven't seen the outcome of yet? Obama draws large crowds and people like him, but I haven't seen any significant change on any of the major world issues in the past 9 months.

and yeah... I don't really see how this benefits the US. Europe likes us more? I guess I can die happy. they hated GW and I was right there with them, but it's not like there was any functional differences between our relationship with the European nations now and then. they hated GW, but it's not like they were cutting off trade, and Obama hasn't been able to use his popularity to achieve any real progress like getting the EU to send more troops to Afghanistan.

I think the Nobel committee gave Mr Obama the Peace Prize out of relief of not having the US Neocons pretty running the world.

Never said Obama deserved a thing. He doesn't. Not yet at least. He at least has time. Saying that BUSH deserves anything other than a special place in hell is ludicrous. When you cosign his BS and and praise him you are equally culpable and will rot as well imo. So you have that going for ya at least...

Most people would agree that people are tortured in hell. You're not a sub-human POS are you?

I lol'ed.

You're welcome to your opinion, and when you found the Loki Peace Prize, it may actually matter. Until then, for those who can see past the knee-jerk anti-Obama propaganda, it's really not that hard to understand where the Nobel committee is coming from. The rest of the world had been on edge for years. nervously watching the shoot-first cowboy with his finger on the big red button, dreading who he might decide to bully next. Then Obama takes over -- intelligent, temperate, understanding the power of diplomacy and the great responsibility of the world's only remaining superpower -- and in a few short months turns this around dramatically, reaching out to the other countries of the world to make it clear that the United States was once again a force for peace. That may not seem like enough to you, but it was obviously a huge relief to civilized people across the globe.
