Obama gets the secret service!

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has been placed under the protection of the U.S. Secret Service, the Secret Service said Thursday.

I wonder what his secret service nick name will be.

The Secret Service has finished their analysis and concluded that he will be the leading candidate for the Democratic Party...me thinks.

It's more likely (IMO) that he's getting a lot more death threats than your average candidate because he is black.

More or less some guy "helped" out Obama and ran a myspace page (like...totally cool man!"). Obama's people didn't think it was a great idea to have somebody else running their page. Guy asked for money, Obama's peeps said no, guy gets pissed and trashes friends, and then runs to the media bawling. Obama has to rebuild friend list, big friggin deal (like...OMG...totally!).

I'd have to imagine SS protection does more harm than good... it probably hurts your ability to get up close and personal with voters if you're constantly surrounded by a shield of men in black.

but Hillary's had secret service protection for awhile, as a former first lady.

Yeah, "shoot first, don't ask questions ever" is a pretty effective policy. Somehow I think the general public might not be too accepting of it though.

I thought the SS agent shielded Reagan with his body and was shot; he even put out his arms to shield Reagan more.

Actually, it was a SS agent that took the bullet for Reagan (and he kept standing up to take any additional bullets).
