Oh, yea, see as a while person raised in the southern part of this nation, I can't escape my self knowledge that I have standard racist ideas imprinted in my brain. Nothing to do with being North or South of the Mason Dixon line. I've known just as many racist from the north as from the south. It's just not nearly socially acceptable in the north as it is in the south.

Being a supervisor, I almost had to say something to all the southerners that were visiting my field site shortly after Obama was elected about how their world was going to be destroyed. Their comments really infuriated me because they assumed since I was white that their comments would be acceptable. Fortunately, about the time I was reaching my limit they quieted down.
