Great interview. The part I connected with best was him talking about renewing American infrastructure.

He makes a solid point: Bush ran up the deficit by $5 trillion, but has nothing to show for it. We need public works projects to modernize things like our national power grids, railways (for high speed rail), ports, roads/bridges, etc.

It's a smart investment that would pay off greatly in the near future, and it would create a lot of new jobs.

Its always bothered me that our teachers have to buy classroom supplies with their own money while the US puts computers in Iraqi schools.

If they just build the re-education camps close to the red states, there would be no need for all that new infrastructure.

great interview. every time i hear Obama talking about using technology it gives me hope that our government will become more efficient, transparent and effective. unlike the sloppy mess Bush has built.

Before this interview I thought it would be a crush-fest like Hannity's interview of Palin. I was totally wrong, it is probably the best interview of Obama I have since in a long time, maybe ever.

Two points-Obama's demeanor and thoughtfulness at this stage totally impressed me. At this stage he has to be running on fumes, has a million things on his mind and a zillion people pressing for his time. He sat down and had an unrushed, thoughtful conversation-amazing.

Secondly, towards the end of the interview he talks about why he never once attacked the Republican party, just McCain and Bush. Superb segment, if that was part of his infomercial it would have been a definate deal closer with wavering independents and weak GOP.

Well worth watching.

Nice ad hominum attack. And it was bctbct that drew the false dichotomy between funding for Iraqi schools and funding for American schools. My post simply highlighted the tragic extent to which we've dehumanized our "enemies".
