its called political capital.
And he is spending it as he sees fit to push an agenda. All politicians do it.

In his first few days in office, Obama issued executive orders and presidential memoranda reversing President Bush's ban on federal funding to foreign establishments that allow abortions (known as the Mexico City Policy and referred by critics as the "Global Gag Rule"), changed procedures to promote disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act, directed the U.S. military to develop plans to withdraw troops from Iraq, and reduced the secrecy given to presidential records. He also issued orders closing Guantanamo Bay detention camp "as soon as practicable and no later than" January 2010.
On February 17, 2009, Obama signed into law a $787 billion economic stimulus package with the intended goal of ameliorating the effects of the economic downturn brought about by the subprime mortgage crisis and the resulting credit crunch. The legislation was the third version of the bill, which had been under debate for over three weeks in the House of Representatives and Senate.
Then on February 27, 2009, Obama declared combat operations will end in Iraq within 18 months. "Let me say this as plainly as I can: By August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end," Obama told Marines about to deploy to Afghanistan.
For the past week, there have been complaints (particularly from the Rpublicans) that he is doing too much.Topic Title: Obama is great at giving speach's..but is he gong to do anything else?

Obama is tv all the time precisely for people like you who are too lazy to find out what he's doing. If you really think he isn't doing anything, you pretty much have to be willfully ignoring him and all news coverage about him.
If you'd rather watch American Idol, simply change the channel. There's an easy fix if you don't want to watch him. The alternative would be for him to communicate with the public too little. There's no solution for that.
Fox news has a daily schedule for Obama. Text
This is his known schedule for today:
President Obama receives daily briefings on the economy and other matters
President Obama meets with senior advisers
President Obama makes an announcement about earmark reform
President Obama delivers remarks and signs an executive order creating the White House Council on Women and Girls
President Obama meets with Democratic members of the Senate Budget Committee
President Obama meets with Democratic members of the House Budget Committee

I seem to remember that after he won reelection Bush said that he had political capital and he intended to spend it. That didn't work out so well. I'm hoping Obama can do better...but my case of jaundiced eye is not improving as of late.Originally posted by: OrByte
