A guy who refers to the "left-wing regimes around the world" is certainly a guy to listen to.

The guy sounds a bit of a quack, goes on about communists and the treaty that the US would be unable to leave unless all treaty members agree, which just from a practical perspective is bullsh*t. It doesn't matter what it says, if an entire country wants out of a treaty it is out.

My not quite as shrill related thread on this subject: The Copenhagen climate treaty: Scam of the century?

The NWO angle is one you hopefully spoke of purely in jest, though I like that critical eyes are being directed towards the Copenhagen Treaty. However, it's nearly a sure bet that you Americans have nothing to worry about. Your President is not likely to attend the talks, and is apparently readying the excuse that the U.S. Senate has not yet held a vote on its own made-in-America global warming bill as a reason to not give any firm statements on getting on board with Copenhagen.

My own country on the other hand is likely to happily bound on board like the glassy eyed fools we often act like. :disgust:

More info on the U.S.'s position:

Norway ups Copenhagen stakes with 40 per cent pledge

Norway's new target, coupled with Japan's recent pledge to upgrade its 2020 emissions target to a 25 per cent cut on 1990 levels, offer one of the few bright spots from the past week's talks in Bangkok, where negotiations have been marred by a row between the US and the G77 group of developing countries over emissions targets.

The row continued to bubble away for a second day after the US yesterday said it would not sign up to any deal based on the Kyoto Protocol and called for a complete reworking of the draft Copenhagen Treaty based on countries setting their own emissions targets.

Chinese officials responded by saying Kyoto was non-negotiable, while poorer nations and green NGOs all rushed to accuse the US of hijacking the negotiating process and jeopardising the chances of an agreement.

I don't buy it. He's naive and evil, but not to the depths it would take to do something like this.

That's ok, if you need somewhere to stay while looking for work in the US we have a room.

NWO ftl

Our nation has too many right-wing idiots.

It's the right who promotes 'one-world government' by allowing power to be the only guide for government, while liberals fight to protect the weak, to protect diversity, to oppose corrupt concentration of power that is the basis for ever-consolidating powers that can have only one result, one world government.

It's the right who oppose organizations like the UN who allow for *diversity* of power.

And communist?

Six year olds know better than to use that old idiot buzzword.

The problem is the dominance of narrow interests who concentrate wealth and power against the public interest, but the right is all but blind to that.

We need less idiocy like the OP's.

Fail appeal to Nationalism. Nations have been ceding Sovereignty since time began. Any agreement between Nations involves the loss of Sovereignty.

He's exactly right - AGW has become a Trojan horse for communists and Marxists (like Obama) as they seek to tie up the US like Gulliver and mug it. This is such a weak, miseducated, malformed generation many of them cant even see when they are being played for the fools they are.

Patrick Moore of Greenpeace fame:

"Sometime in the 1980s the green movement lost its way," says Moore. It culminated with the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 when "an influx of peace activists and Marxist ideologues into the green movement destroyed the remnants of a science-based agenda," .

http://aei.org/article/19889

"A lot of those in the peace movement were anti-American and, to an extent, pro-Soviet. By virtue of their anti-Americanism, they tended to sometimes favor the communist approach. A lot of those people, a lot of those social activists, moved into the environmental movement once the peace movement was no longer relevant." Social activists, he suggests, "are now using the rhetoric of environmentalism to promote other collectivist agendas, such as class struggle -- which I personally believe is a legitimate area, but I don't believe it's legitimate to mix it up with environmentalism."

In addition to the activist influx, those who joined early on and remain in the group today have become more radicalized. Moore explains that as society adopted many of its original social and economic goals, the environmental movement "abandoned science and logic and moved to the left. Unfortunately, environmentalism is still defined by the media and by our culture as an adversarial role. If you want to remain in that adversarial role while society is adopting many of your more reasonable positions, you have to become more extreme in your positions."

So members with a more radical mind-set ascended to power -- "monkey-wrenchers, tree-spikers and boat-scuttlers," he says, many sporting fatigue uniforms and red berets. Intolerance and extremism became the norms, the Greenpeace founder continues, and the organization adopted a policy of preaching "fear not fact."

Lord Monckton?

The same guy who said about AIDS:
"there is only one way to stop AIDS. That is to screen the entire population regularly and to quarantine all carriers of the disease for life. Every member of the population should be blood-tested every month ... all those found to be infected with the virus, even if only as carriers, should be isolated compulsorily, immediately, and permanently." This would involve isolating between 1.5 and 3 million people in the United States ("not altogether impossible") and another 30,000 people in the UK ("not insuperably difficult")

This is the same guy who got no votes in his election to the House of Lords from his own conservative party? (And it's very likely he knew them personally!)

This guy has been discredited so many time times in the past. Suggest you guys google his history and then see if you want to take what he says with a pinch of salt or swallow it hook line and sinker.

"Kofi Annan calls for a major transfer of resources and technology to developing countries to fund mitigation and adaptation measures to address the impact of climate change. "

Heh. Heh. The Kenya connection.

Ceding sovereignty and trying to establish a single "world order" is not possible until all of the big players are actually industrialized. There cannot be wholehearted cooperation with one another while each country is still working to bring itself out of the stone age.
