It's the right who promotes 'one-world government' by allowing power to be the only guide for government, while liberals fight to protect the weak, to protect diversity, to oppose corrupt concentration of power that is the basis for ever-consolidating powers that can have only one result, one world government.

It's the right who oppose organizations like the UN who allow for *diversity* of power.

Very good point, and I'm a conservative.

Anyone with the sense to google the guy (Mounckton) knows he's a wackjob with no credibility.

Did the cut the part where he invites Davie Icke and Alex Jones out to talk about how Obama is a transdimensional reptile that wants to eat our babies? Or is that only the British Royals and the Bush family?

Patrick Moore of Greenpeace fame:

"Sometime in the 1980s the green movement lost its way," says Moore. It culminated with the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 when "an influx of peace activists and Marxist ideologues into the green movement destroyed the remnants of a science-based agenda," .

http://aei.org/article/19889

"A lot of those in the peace movement were anti-American and, to an extent, pro-Soviet. By virtue of their anti-Americanism, they tended to sometimes favor the communist approach. A lot of those people, a lot of those social activists, moved into the environmental movement once the peace movement was no longer relevant." Social activists, he suggests, "are now using the rhetoric of environmentalism to promote other collectivist agendas, such as class struggle -- which I personally believe is a legitimate area, but I don't believe it's legitimate to mix it up with environmentalism."

In addition to the activist influx, those who joined early on and remain in the group today have become more radicalized. Moore explains that as society adopted many of its original social and economic goals, the environmental movement "abandoned science and logic and moved to the left. Unfortunately, environmentalism is still defined by the media and by our culture as an adversarial role. If you want to remain in that adversarial role while society is adopting many of your more reasonable positions, you have to become more extreme in your positions."

So members with a more radical mind-set ascended to power -- "monkey-wrenchers, tree-spikers and boat-scuttlers," he says, many sporting fatigue uniforms and red berets. Intolerance and extremism became the norms, the Greenpeace founder continues, and the organization adopted a policy of preaching "fear not fact."

Some of you guys are really daft. You think that nations will stay sovereign over time? Eventually things will merge, even if it's by the hands of greedy oligarchs. This era we live it in the perfect time for it, too, what with the spread of ideas through a massive world-wide-web and global banking systems. You're fucking naive if you think people WOULDN'T sell us out to a massive oligarchy. It's a shame that this is way it's going to happen, though.

Meanwhile no one is really even bothering to deal with the statements made by Patrick Moore who, most of us would agree, was in a pretty good place to see what was happening with the environmental movement.

I have said it many times before: our present scientific understanding of the earth geologic/climate system is completely insufficient to reach a conclusion concerning mans effects on the climate. Data acquisition, analysis, and modeling are all flimsy at best. Moreover, the whole climate study area is insanely political... when stuff in science turns this political you know diabolical shit is going down. I have a PhD in Chemical engineering and have many friends in 'climate' research (they are an honest lot and much of my opinion on GW is due in part to their explanations, etc.).

I am all for green engineering and renewable energy... and as surprising as this sounds, the US is so screwed sideways when it comes to green engineering and sustainable energy and we still are. We aren't spending money were we should and we are wasting money on things we shouldn't... meanwhile the public is largely uninformed and too stupid to put two and two together for themselves (and when it comes to science, that's most of you reading this post too... sorry).

I have reached the point where i believe that most people in this country are either too dumb to understand / figure out what going on and of small percentage of those that do know what's going on, most of them don't really care and/or feel powerless to change much of anything.

It's naive to speak of such things in future tense, particularly in light of the recent bank bailouts and the like. It's also naive to think of it in binary terms though, as we far outnumber our oligarchy and can start reversing the consolidation of power whenever we care to man up to the task.

I get the impression it mostly isn't a matter of such people lacking intellect, but rather just being deluded into suppressing it and conditioned into letting others do their thinking for them.

And wow, that guy in the video is quite the drama queen.

Yeah, stop with the diversions, Craig234 simply wants to have an honest discussion about how half your country are idiots.

The one good thing about one world communism will be that all the assholes that have been trained like shit throwing apes to 'crap in the hand and heave' whenever they hear the words 'United Nations' will finally and at least have all died of malnutrition.

Lol, wut?

If you're being serious calling Obama communist/marxist, well, then I can only conclude you haven't the first clue what communism/marxism really is about, and that you're a complete nutter. Obama's roughly as communist as Bill Gates, I'd say.

If you were being sarcastic however...well, good played, Sir. You had me completely fooled.

As for what Patrick Moore has to say, he can speak for himself of course, but he doesn't speak for everyone. He's wrong if he's trying to imply there isn't still a very strong science foundation in the environmental movement. Heck, projects like the Earth Simulator for example couldn't even be possible without science!

He's also wrong when he claims the peace movement was pro-soviet. While I'm sure there's one or two loony crackheads out there who actually were pro-soviet, I'm sure you'd find many many more pro-US peacers than pro-soviets. That's because most people aren't crazy, and they know the US - while far from perfect - is the better alternative than what the soviet union was.

The reason part of the peace movement is anti-american is because the US likes to drop bombs on and invade other sovereign nations to promote its own agendas. That doesn't mean you're automatically pro-soviet though, just as criticizing George Shrub's war in Iraq didn't make people pro-terrorist.

Elementary stuff really, provided you're not blinded by hateful right-wing ideology.

i'm simply pointing out something i believe to be wrong in your statement, which is that the left has all these altruistic goals. the truth is simply that they do not. they want power just as much as the right. how they go about achieving that goal may be different, but that doesn't change what the goal is.

All you're pointing out is that you have a craving for power and are motivated by it. This is called projection. You see everybody else as what you are and don't want to see about yourself.

A thief fears people will steal from him. A liar thinks everything is a lie. A gambler see life as a crap shoot, etc. Projection is a curse, but it is also a tool. It is the mirror by which you find out who you are. It is the means by which you discover in your contempt for others how you hate yourself. You have it all wrong about power. It is in self knowledge there's real power, because without it you are only a bot and a mechanical being.

oddly enough MB, you are both right and wrong. do i want power? sure, i do. we all do. just like i want lots of money, nice cars, a nice house, and a beautiful spouse. you know, kind of like everyone else. however, there is a lot of responsibility associated with power that i don't think i'm ready for.

sometimes you really just have to take words at face value. i don't hate everything. and while i don't like some aspects of myself, i don't hate myself. not entirely anyway.

whether i may be projecting or not does not change the fact that both the left and right want power and achieve it by their own means.

Please don't give me the oddly I'm right business. I am right beyond your wildest imaginings. And I have no interest in power whatsoever. Power if for the ego and the ego is death. My point is that while you project unconsciously, unaware that you do, your observations, like the one that everybody wants the things you listed, will be worthless. You can't see others as they are while projecting. And don't forget:

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So from my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

A pretty woman makes her husband look small
And very often causes his downfall
As soon as he marries her, then she starts
Doin' the things that will break his heart

But if you make an ugly woman your wife
You'll be happy for the rest of your life
An ugly woman cooks your meals on time
An she'll always give you peace of mind

Don't't let your friends say you have no taste
Go ahead and marry anyway
Though her face is ugly and her eyes don't match
Take it from me, she's a better catch
