So it's only because you don't understand obamacare that you don't like it, right? We've heard this message for over a year now. That The People are just too stupid to understand all the complexities of this monstrosity and Obama just needs to do a better job of explaining the message and how great it is.

Well have no fear stupid Americans! You can now have a comic book describing how great dear leader's law is!

The MIT economics whiz who crafted President Obama’s national health-care overhaul now plans to explain the complex and controversial plan to the masses — in one long comic book.

Jonathan Gruber, a nationally recognized health economist who devised the economic underpinnings of Obamacare (Gruber hates the term), said his three comic-loving kids encouraged him to use the hip format of the graphic novel — basically an expensive comic published in book form — to tell the story of the complicated plan to 300 million Americans.

To be fair even if someone scribbled things down for your with crayons you'd probably need a coach to figure it out. All you know is crazy. Why you so sad that even dummies will get a chance to figure things out? Some people don't like the echo chambers many get their facts from.

We The People need bright colors and simple drawings to understand simple things, why must the elite talk down to us? These liberal elites with their big words, and fancy phrases, how they hate us so.

Maybe this comic book will help you understand why the Republican idea, the individual mandate, is required to cover preexisting conditions.

That is an excellent question to ask. So yes, many people are not so much too stupid, but too biased to 'get it' even though they haven't looked into it themselves. Most can't say why they hate "obamacare" other than chanting "omgsocialisttakeoverofmedicarewharrrgarbl!". Give a good, solid, logical reasoning if you disagree, otherwise, you are too stupid to 'get it'. Before doing so, you must keep an open mind.

Intellectualism isn't a bad thing. It and elitism are not the same thing by far.

I don't want my premiums and cost of healthcare to rise so much because of Obamacare requirements of insurers. All this law does is raise premiums and healthcare costs.

You cannot mandate insurance companies increase all this coverage, preventative care for "free", 26 year old "kids" on parents insurance without premiums being raised. That's common sense. This law is ass backwards in what it was sold for.

Dont ever ask the government to solve your problem, or you will just have more problems. The government is the problem, not the solution.

It's a true fact that insurance premiums were never raised before this legislation.

Look it up.

even though big business is against it im surprised there isnt massive support for obamacare. it gives insurance to a lot of people that dont/wont have it. also it tries to protect people from bankruptcy and loss of insurance as a result of a major illness. have you ever known someone who got a major illness? insurance companies immediately drop that persons coverage

What's the point of this chart? is it supposed to tell us "Obamacare" creates a too big a bureaucracy?

If that's the point, can you first please do the work and tell us what exactly on that chart is new? And what exactly is the relationship between the organizations on that chart before "Obamacare"?

I see IRS, CMS, Medicare, Medicaid and HHS on that chart, which "Obamacare" did not create, as far as I know. Also, there is a box in the bottom left that says "Physicians". I vote to keep it in place, no matter how much bureaucracy and a massive government intrusion it may create.

He's probably right. Most Americans don't understand the simple Constitution which is like 9 pages not over 2000. But they will understand forcing you to buy a broken product and putting everyone on it will raise their rates sky high. A light pocket book has a way of making people understand.

Most people don't understand their current health insurance plan that they pay for. Expecting them to understand the monstrosity of legal mumbo jumbo that is the HC bill is asking a bit much. Personally I can't wait to see them attempt to take all of that bullshit and compress it and then translate it to plain English in a comic book format.

I wonder if they will add Obama's promise that the bill would not increase costs and allow you to keep your current plan if you so desire in the comic?

Oh yea, so those insurance companies that now have the force of government behind their bottom line are "against" it? lol

it gives insurance to a lot of people that dont/wont have it.

Um ...who? Oh, you mean that now instead of opting to not pay expensive premiums, we all HAVE to pay so sure, I guess everyone will be covered ...yippy.

have you ever known someone who got a major illness? insurance companies immediately drop that persons coverage

Bullshit. Has it happened, yes, is it standard practice? No, it isn't.

Ask anyone you know with a preexisting condition how they feel about the health care law....How about asking people who went bankrupt over health care....

Its easy for you to judge from your Ivory tower until it impacts you...

My mom died of cancer and had incredible treatment from her insurance for years. My dad has a long history of heart problems (3rd heart bypass) and has had no problems with his insurance. Yeah, it impacts me but thank god for health insurance.

Now if you're a fuck-up and don't maintain group coverage, miss payments, don't pay your bills timely, well then you get what you deserve.

YOU CANNOT BE DENIED for pre-existing conditions if you maintain group coverage.

Actually my wife who was between jobs on cobra coverage had a car accident. She exhausted her coverage since she was freelancing at the time and we had over 130K in medical bills above and beyond what her insurance payed. The person that hit her had shit coverage as well and that went fast...She was uninsurable on the open market and was turned down by every single carrier in the state of Indiana. I was forced to get a job with benefits since I was a freelance opera singer at the time and had to buy insurance on the open market..

Guess what happens when we finally get coverage a year later from my new job? Yup all treatment for her prexisting condition we had to pay out of pocket......

Is the health care bill perfect? Not even close....removing it would be worse....how about we fix it together?

Why didn't you/she have proper car insurance? If it was related to the accident your car insurance pays for that.

And WHY THE HELL did you let group coverage lapse?
