Anyone here been successful yet? I've had nothing but issues. Had to log out 8 times already and then start the section over due to an error page or the page hanging. Still trying to get through all the "optional" "other questions" but it's stuck at asking if my 16 year old has reconciled her 2014 APTC.

I wouldn't be on the damn gov't website if I wasn't forced to by obamacare - I'd have had cheaper and better (it was then) insurance without having the gov't involved.

So what's your story?

Insurance was getting more expensive and crappier every year before Obamacare. But carry on signing up

That might be true, but I was leaving my job, starting a new company when this abomination was foisted upon us. I had quotes from insurers for MUCH less but then obamacare came in and those plans suddenly disappeared from their sites(ie not available). But I've posted about that previously. F#$%ing gov't does nothing but F things up.

...still not able to complete the mandatory "optional" questions...

Takes about 6 hours by phone. Which is exactly how the working poor like to spend their time between their two part time jobs with no sick or vacation time, by phoning obamacare.

lol, login page now F'd up.

I swear, anyone who thought obamacare was a good idea is a moron. Let's have people wade through a mess of gov't ineptness just so they can buy the damn insurance they could have bought before on their own. F'n stupid.

You don't need to use their website (and never have needed to). Just buy the insurance you want directly from the insurance company you want, and the price will all wash out when you do your taxes.

The website is there simply there to aid in comparing prices. If it is broken, you just have to do the legwork and compare them yourself.

(Or try signing up on a day OTHER than the day it opens with millions of others using the website at the same time).

Of course he is!

Hell, for all we know he's describing an utterly contrived non-experience.

My family has Kaiser thru the exchange. I'm on their upgrade Medicare plan. It actually allowed me to retire, even w/o any subsidy. Prior to the exchange, quotes for private health insurance were simply prohibitive. My wife did the web work & she said it was a PITA but we've had smooth sailing since then.

Just because the website sux doesn't mean it's a bad product.

Good points. However there are a few problems with them.
1. The 2 main insurers(the two I am willing to choose based on my needs) send you straight to the gov website to sign up.
2. I have today and tomorrow to do this as I will be on a jobsite starting Wednesday and lasting a couple weeks. So my timeline for this is quite short. If the system wasn't so F'd up, I'd have already had this done but due to BHOcare I have to jump through all these extra BROKEN hoops that didn't exist before. And no, the website isn't there just to compare. I don't think you've actually had to do this on your own if you think that's all it does.

So you've (meaning your wife) already done your 2016 coverage? I'm attempting to but I've now had to enter the same damn info multiple times only to have the site stall and make me log out.
The exchange is the product and yes the product is bad. The website is a mess (still) and not user friendly at all. NONE of my info changed from last year yet here I sit having to answer all these stupid questions just to be able to get to the part where I can see the options I have.

CADsortaGuy you should know better than to describe anything less than a stellar experience when it comes to anything Obamacare here. It was legislative perfection with a stellar implementation and is a rousing success in every sense. I know this because the government told me so.

If you're having problems, it's because you're doing something wrong. In this case it's trying to use the website that cost $2.1 Billion and counting.

I've seen both sides of the ACA.

Thank god the inertia on healthcare in the USA was broken through. But I think bottom line, the ACA has a long ways to go.

Obvious hurdles to improving the ACA is the manufactured infallibility of government and the propaganda our government spews out to control perceptions. This prevents or otherwise removes a need for the government to fix problems affecting individuals. The government has always and will always resort to lying or deceiving in order to protect itself and its policy.

It's an awesome product! And anybody who says they're having difficulties with it should be immediately suspected as a liar who's contriving a non-experience. You just can't make this shit up!

It's not going to change until we get some people in office with some balls. Right now, we've got a chief executive who "fixes it" through delaying implementation by dictating that his will be done. He's very happy to kick that can and let somebody else take care of it in the future.

Obamacare is the result of being in love with the idea of something with no real thought put into the implementation or the consequences.

The $20 Trillion Man has spoken!

Just like your groceries were going up, at the approx-line to keep up with inflation (the dollar becoming weaker). We have actually had DE-FLATION in the last couple years (or near 0% inflation).

So we go from rate increases of inflation (Approx 2-4% depending on the year), to MANY people having double digit % increases. TONS that get dropped coverage altogether. And some that send them a rate increase of LITERALLY doubling (100% increase) to their prior year rates. This is only normal if you're a complete retard sticking his head in the sand going "LA-LA-LA-LA I'm not listening!" Keep up the good work showing what incompetent fools you all are to defend this.

It's no different than the global warming issues, regardless of facts or trending data, you won't lay claim to being wrong about the ACA until every single American is starving on the streets as they pay their tax penalty because they had to choose feeding themselves or having health insurance.

This is actually precisely the opposite of what happened. You realize that health care inflation has been much lower after the ACA was passed than in the years preceding it, right?

So what's your story?

It wasn't that bad for me yesterday. Took a few minutes to log in b/c I forgot my password. When I was in it asked me if I wanted to renew my 2015 plan, which I did not. I answered many questions that were intended to update my family situation. I got my eligibility determination and was sent to the plan selector.

I've had some issues but they're mostly benign and just pet peeves:
If you log out after updating your family info and getting your eligibility determination but before selecting a plan you're forced to go through a family info review and eligibility determination before getting back to the plan selector. Once you have the eligibility determination any subsequent logins should take right back to the plan selector.
If you click on the box to add a plan to your comparison chart it reloads the page at the top. If you're looking to add several plans to the comparison chart you are continually having to re-scroll through the list.
The comparison chart will only show three plans side-by-side at a time. That makes it difficult to appropriately compare costs and benefits. I had to input data into an Excel sheet so I could better compare when I was narrowing my list down from 10.

Other than that my only difficulty was in wasted time due a combination error on my part and perhaps illegal lack of notification by an insurer. (I signed up for my current plan in August for a 10/1/2015 start date due to a qualifying event. I made sure my family's providers were in the network. In signing up for 2016 coverage I only have 2 insurers available to me, one of which is my current one. I limited my choices to that insurer b/c my docs are in network. Only after narrowing my choices down to 2 did I check the provider list and find out that NONE of my docs are in network. Stupid error on my part, I should have checked first, but also illegal move on the insurer's part because they're required to notify me if my designated PCP leaves the network, which they did not.)
