Funny so many people assume I'm a "left-winger" after making absurd extrapolations from my post.
The ultimate point is that people who question Obama's character instead of his policies, whether domestic or foreign, are one of two things; too stupid to understand the policies and their ramifications both short and long term or, they are simply disdainful towards him as a person. If it isn't race, then it's his upbringing that seems dubious. If it isn't that, then it's his education. If it isn't that, then it's his associations and acquaintances. The point being hateful people will simply find another excuse to spew their nonsense.
As I mentioned in another thread some months ago, to prove whether most of the people who don't like Obama do so because of his race, go back to the 2008 elections. When you take a candidate like McCain, a dunce from the Navy who was good at flip-flopping and marrying into wealth and compare him to a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Harvard Law, the intelligence of both candidates are antipodal in nature. If you switch the situation and have a black man who is a dunce from the Navy and a white man who graduates Magna Cum Laude from Harvard, do you think the black would have received ~48 million votes because of the "issues" he supports? There is the proof that Obama's election to the presidency of the USA was a tectonic shift in the collective conscience of the American people.
A leader of any group, city, county, state, and eventually nation, is supposed to be natively intelligent, unlike junior Bush. The obvious choice was Obama not so much because he was a Harvard graduate, but because his native intelligence would enable him to grasp the issues, deconstruct them logically, and eventually come up with solutions that are in the best interest of the nation. Now, the last part of that statement can be legitimately questioned; in other words, does Obama's loyalty lie completely with the interests of the USA or are they generally geared towards the betterment of all people regardless of nationality. However egalitarian that attitude may be, the American public is far too stupid to appreciate such a stand. This is obviously why Reagan was considered a "great" president despite falling asleep at important meetings and making vacuous remarks publicly.
Obama's oratory skills as well as his apparent cognitive acuity have been proven through his graduation from Harvard Law School. It is done. There is no benefit to either side by bringing up such trivialities in order to deconstruct the man instead of his policies. For people who cannot tolerate the fact that Obama, a half-black man, as President of the USA, they are incessant in their efforts to invalidate his candidacy and Presidency by whatever means necessary. Instead of discussing substantive issues that plague the psyche of the commoner, shitheads like Trump, who gives two hoots about the average American, engage in absolute balderdash.
People who are supposed to question the president's policies in a cogent manner asking important questions and challenging them in places like the Congress are instead using the media to debase the man, his family, and question the veracity of his background. This same trope was applied when goons like Limbaugh kept repeating 'Hussein Obama' in order to dissuade voters from voting for "that Muslim" instead of explaining to his audience why a Democratic president would make matters worse for this country. The travesty is that such dunderheads as Limbaugh, Beck et. al make tens of millions of dollars a year spewing this vitriol and creating a fissure within the American psyche.
And to those who think getting into Harvard is easy, think again. Harvard Law School is the top law school in the world. The competition to get in is absolutely insane and once you get in, your connections and affirmative action won't let you graduate, especially with a Magna Cum Laude. How do I know? My cousin is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Harvard Law School and makes $$$$ at a top law firm in California. She has stated unequivocally that Harvard Law School curriculum takes no prisoners and the competition involved in getting into the Harvard Law Review, let alone being elected as President of it, is no small feat.
It is indeed funny that Trump is making all this noise. If the GOP is dumb enough to nominate him for the 2012 election, Obama will certainly have the last laugh.
