I was shocked right up until the point of "Canada" and "human rights tribunal".

You know, if she needs to carry around oxygen and has a heart condition, it sounds like her complaint about needing the closer space is perfectly valid. Yes, she made some bad decisions about her health, but that is not relevant.

Chances are most of her issues are weight related. Those that are not directly weight related would probably be completely manageable under normal circumstances if she wasn't a fattie.

It takes a long time to get that fat. Years of abusing your body is not simply a bad decision, or an accident. It's more like thousands of bad decisions that she never learnt from.

She'll probably die soon enough if she is that fat with so many health problems.

She may have won the court case but she has not won the war.

She has just isolated herself from all her neighbors.

I expect her car shall get keyed etc.
He door will have the occasional egg thrown at it.
Her garbage bins will be knocked over
She might drop something and instead of helping her, people are gonna walk right by
etc
etc

I imagine that 35 of her neighbors are going to make her life hell now. I would hate to be totally isolated from neighbors.

What do you guys think?

The only one who is going to be smiling at the end of all this is her lawyer, and therein lies the problem.

One of the problems here is that this human rights tribunal is fining the neighbors for her problems. I would be irate if I got fined because some fat bitch wanted a parking spot.

Did the settlement demand money from just specific neighbors who had insulted her?

I gotta say it: If I was in that situation of a neighbor and had to pay $300 in general for something I had never done because of a settlement like this you can bet your ass she'd find bricks in her car.

She sued her condo association and the fine was levied against the association. The association's bylaws probably stipulate that all fines and levies be split equally amongst all members. That's why everyone has to pay and why I'll never live in an association. If you have a clean history, you could get your condominium owners insurance policy to pay the levy, since most policies (in the US at least) allow coverage for up to $500 in association fines.

lol thats a pretty good idea. Have the two people in the complex who are home the most park on either side of her, and totally hug the line.

Add the fact that she's a woman and can't park to begin with.... hilarity ensues.

My roommate use to own a really old Thunderbird while living in an apartment complex. Whenever someone parked really bad, he would back in really close to the driver side door making it a pain in the ass for them to get into the car. Since his car was old, he didn't care about scratches or anything. Sometimes I wish I had a beater to do this to the annoying trucks around here.

It pisses me off that she feels ENTITLED to the spot closer to the door simply because of her issues. I feel sorry for people with disabilities, i've been temporarily disabled due to various injuries and it's no fun..... but now someone with whom i can only assume had a contract with the association for a particular spot has to move due to things outside of her control? that's bull. and to sue someone because they called you names, ? her feelings are worth ten grand?!?!? the fuck?

In my condo, I *own* my parking spot. As in, I have a separate physical deed for that exact spot.

In order for me to "trade" it with someone, you have to buy it from me.

Doesn't matter what the condo association thinks. Private property.
