Obi adapters, Google Voice, and Obivoice

I switched over to Phone Power in May based on this Obihai blog. http://blog.obihai.com/2014_05_01_archive.html Thanks Obihai. I kept my Google Voice number so I'll stick with Phone Power until next May and then it's back to Google Voice.

It wasn't just Obihai.

GrooveIP & Talkatone patched out the Google Voice calling and went with other services because they had gotten the same info at the time.

So I'm not at home to play around with this but is there any change in configuration I'll need to do on my Obi110 device? I set that thing up 4 years ago and it's still working with my google voice number... No documentation saying anything in that press release.

Yeah I helped someone move to PhonePower too.

I'd try contacting Phone Power and explain how annoyed you are that Phone Power has yet to let you check Google Voicemail by phone and now that Google has added official support that you would like to cancel and ask if they will charge any additional fees and if they can wave them due to you not being satisfied with the service. Ask if they will refund you the rest of the amount.

There is a new more secure way to login the Obi box to Google. So remove the Google Voice in the Obi setup. (Suggest doing a hard reset after.) Then re-add Google Voice on the Obi and it may update the box then ask to login with the new login method.

Just got home and used the obitalk.com site and did google voice setup thru there. Looks like it automatically cleared my stuff I had in there. Nifty
