OC and 1.4Ghz Thunderbird

Just wondering how much you all are able to overclock.

Windows XP won't load if I go past 11.5 as the multiplier, it just crashes right away.

The fsb, when 11.5 is teh mul, the max with satbiliy I can cracnk out is 136, if I go any higher and run benchmark tests it crashes.

Heating is not in issue, with doing 11.5X136=1564 with the voltage set to 1.85 (but really 1.91 due to ASUS mobo, the A7V133-Raid), my idle temp is 45C and load temp is 48C. So it hasn't become a problem yet.

Anyone have any other tips on how I can get it to go faster?

That overclock is pretty good. You're probably not going to squeeze much more performance out of that chip. The highest I've seen any Tbird hit is around 1.6GHz. You can try dropping the multiplier and increasing the FSB to get some more bandwidth (maybe try 142MHz x 11) , but just remember that the more you increase the FSB, the more you're going to be running your AGP and PCI buses out of spec. The A7V133 tends not to like high FSB speeds as much other Socket A mobos, so don't expect too much more.

will do...i'll try it when i get home from work, but from what i can remember the highest fsb i've run stable was 138mhz.

My 1.4 does 1.6 @ 1.91v. But i run it at 1533@ default voltage.
