OC with P4 and Geil

I ordered my IS7, P4 2.8c and 2 sticks of the 512mb Geil PC-3200 Value RAM. It is rated at 400 Mhz. Anyways, i wanted to know once i get this all and put it together, in order to OC the p4 i'll have to up the FSB, and if i up the FSB, that pushes the RAM, doesn't it? Do you think the Geil will be able to handle this? How can i counter act this? Make sure the ram voltage is upped to 2.8v? Any suggestions on what process I do this in would be much appreciated.

quite frankly Geil value ram plain out sucks, you'd be luckey if you can run it @ 200 Mhz on the loosest timings on 2.8V

most of the reviews i read says it runs fine at 400 mhz with the 2.5 6 3 3 settings, and that's all i could really ask for for 71 bucks a stick, but is it going to hamper my OC'ing of the P4?

You should consider running the RAM at 5/4 ratio so that you can push the FSB while keeping the RAM low. For instance, 5/4 at 250MHz FSB would put the RAM at exactly its rated speed.

Everyone keeps talking crap about Geil, but I have had a good experience with their pc3200 value ram. The only issue I ran into was that I had problems running at high speeds in dual channel mode with my n-Force2 motherboard. Once I began running it in single channel mode, I was able to get it to run at 460mhz. Currently, I have two sticks of 256megs running at 460mhz (with a voltage bump) with a CL 2.5, 6-3-3. The system totally runs solid... passes memtest86, bot matches in Unreal Tournament, prime 95, etc. For the money, I think the ram is an excellent buy.

Add me to the list of satisfied Geil 3200 value ram user. Running rock solid at ddr400 on my Nforce2 board. Can't say the same about Crucial ram which is supposed to be so good. Had 2 sticks die on me after 1 yr. Was running stock everything too.

I paid $69+5shipping for my Geil 512mb stick. Now that's value.

Got two sticks of the 512MB PC3200 (from Newegg) in dual channel mode at 205MHz, 2.63V, 6-3-3, CAS 2.5. It seems to perform as advertised.
That's my main system; my secondary one has a stick of 512 and a 256MB stick of Geil's RAM, also in dual channel mode, 200MHz, 2.5V 6-3-3, CAS 2.5.
The stuff seems to work just fine for me.
