Do you even get tired of being wrong on EVERY issue?

If I was constantly proven wrong in every thread, just about the basic facts of an issue/story, you'd think I'd start to question my sources of information and news. But that's me, I guess.

Minimum wage doubling doesn’t reduce employment for low skilled jobs?

The minimum wage didn’t double. You shouldn’t talk about places you don’t understand.

My bad, read that as $7.25 -> $15. Question still stands, does a policy of raising minimum wage reduce employment for low skilled workers?

What am I trying again, how I read it? The article states going from $7.25 to $15, a policy which she supports.

You haven’t actually answered anything though, does raising minimum wage reduce employment for low skilled workers?

Studies have shown that raising minimum wage has a negative impact of anywhere from 0-3% and the ones typically affected are teens. So the negative impact on employment from raising the minimum wage is minimal at worst to non existent at best.

Again, you show your ignorance on the subject.

hey, at least it's more devastating than the "voter fraud" issue, which occurs what...0.00002% of the time? Damn, GOP retards and their unending ability to focus on bullshit that doesn't matter and ignore actual issues. Every fucking time. Every. Fucking. Time.

It’s very odd that this business closed because of the minimum wage doubling when:

1) that ‘doubling’ was in the future. (It still hasn’t happened yet) and

2) since it’s a restaurant most of their workers work under the tipped minimum wage anyway so that doesn’t really apply.

Regardless, the empirical research is very conflicted about if higher minimum wage actually ends up decreasing low skill employment but even if it does it’s not primarily through business closure.

You guys are desperately flailing because this woman who doesn’t even hold office apparently scares the shit out of you.

Can I take this to mean you guys have abandoned the line of attack where you complained about her taking an action much milder than things politicians you support do every day?

I'm still curious as to how low skill employment is still a thing given that minimum wage has been increased more than twice over the past decades....you'd think every low skill job would've been eliminated, if conservative rhetoric about min. wage increases is to be believed.

It's actually not a straightforward answer - but basically, I believe the current wisdom is:
  • When minimum wages are 'low' - say, less than 40% of the average hourly wage - then moderate increases won't have a significant short-run effect on employment.
  • When minimum wages are around 45% of the average, they significantly reduce employment.
  • No-one has been able to find any evidence to suggest that increasing the minimum wage has a measurable effect on reducing poverty.
