Hey the FX55 is multiplier unlocked right???

Just drop the multiplier and hold 200fsb to set other speeds...Unfortunately the added 512kb of l2 cache cant be avoided so it would have some effect...could at least do a 4000+ cpu!!!

Could take the 3000+...run HTT 4x and set the HTT to 244 and memory to 166 to hold PC3200 ram speed....The bus frequency would stay close to 1000 so no effect there...whola!!! A poor mans 3500+!!!!

??? Did you read your own benches. Here I'll break it down for you.

Intel wins
Music match by an insignifigant margin.

Office apps
Amd wins
Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1
Adobe Premiere 6.5
(we know who dominates winrar)

Intel wins
ACDSee
Ahead Software Nero Express 6.0.0.3
Winzip 8.1

Video Encoding
Intel wins all four but within 2% margin on each test to AMD. Again insignifigant.

Your conclusion does'nt jive with your test results. Best you can say is Intel's new P4's and EE's have parity with A64 in applications while A64 dominates gaming and math.

Many of those intel victories have become AMD..ACDSee...Nero Express 6.0.0.3 ...Winzip 8.1..

The verdict is in after I read two trusted sites (techreport and anandtech). Intel prescott is strong in media encoding..not much else.
