Question Occupancy monitor

Hello, first time here, I hope I'm posting this in the correct forum, if not, I apologize ...

I am looking for an occupancy monitor. I know of occupancy sensors which are triggered when someone enters the room, I need a device that is like a camera in the sense that it streams constantly, but all it needs to do is to stream the presence or absence of a human in a room.

Preferably one with a mobile app.

An infrared sensor is probably your best bet. You can probably set this up with a Raspberry pi and have it update a web page. You can just access the web page from the mobile browser. If you want to be alerted you could also have it send an email to a dedicated mailbox and have a specific alert sound for that mailbox.

I have a bunch of those sensors that I wanted to play with any never ended up but I think the way they work is they send a voltage based on amount of movement. So you could adjust the threshold in software as needed.

An optical sensor (ex: camera) would be harder to do but is doable too.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Bunch of questions. Would you mind telling how you got the sensors, can I buy them over the internet, can you sell me one if needed? And that is the easy part, what I have to do with a Raspberry pi (the "for dummies" version) would also be appreciated !!!
