Dentists -- stem cell research should eliminate these overpaid bastards
Plumber-- they make way too much money
Electricians-- same as plumbers over payed
Teachers -- most of them don't do anything

I don't think being a forum troll is technically an occupation, unless you are at work getting paid to be a dumbass on AT forums, which begs the question of why your job exists.

Yes, I don't understand how his list contains so many important occupations.

Lawyers!

Yes every fucking one of them. They are all leeches.

My vote as well. Every morning, as I watch TV and get ready for work I am deluged by at least a half-dozen ads for personal injury/accident lawyers. After work I get hit with medical malpractice ads for all sorts of weird procedures.

They are "here to help" when we need them. Yeah right, at $300 an hour and/or 1/3 the settlement!

Everyone in health care starting right after I retire

We'll take care of ourselves and everyone else can use the Internet.

I guess some land lines have built in call blockers. I wish I knew that 2 months ago when I bought a new phone.

Better clarify: I block callers on my Cell (which I get 10x more telemarketers on than landline), The landline; I NEVER answer, always let it go to the Ans. machine. No one I know has my home number, I have it for FAX only, and rarely at that, but keep it hooked up to phone/ans. machine combo in our bedroom (Mainly for 911, old people gotta be ready!)

I don't answer the phone, period, if:

A. I don't recognize the number
B. The person is not in my contacts list.

If it is a legitimate call, I have voicemail.

Still annoying to receive those calls, but at least it doesn't waste my time.

Yeah, me too, but when it (Cell) rings, I always check & see who it is. If I know the name/number, I'll answer, if not, goes to VM.
Sometimes, I'll Google the number, that usually tells me when others have received calls from telemarketers, then I block it.

Headhunters.
They do absolutely nothing and take near 40% of my pay.

Curious how you arrived at that number.. because you're probably wrong.

But the value they add is more for the company than it is the candidate. Most candidates served by a headhunter could get a job themselves if they wanted to

Chiropractors -

Sadly - not all of the general public is bright enough to research electronics before purchasing them so sales associates at Best Buy are sometimes helpful.

They'll eventually all be replaced by robots or the billions of skill-less uneducated and malnourished masses. Every union worker paid $25/hr here is morally responsible for the death of a hundred Chinese workers that could get by on $.25/hr.

Professional politician is the only occupation i'd put on my list. Ask me again ten or twenty years after that group goes away.

It is just frustrating, you have your hands full, in an awkward position & your phone rings, drop everything, get phone out of pocket, BAM, it's a telemarketer!

So don't drop everything to answer it! Nobody needs to be reachable every minute of every day.

I have a secondary ringer that I use if it's family. Everyone else gets the standard ringer, and I get to it if I get to it. If it's legitimate, they'll leave a message or I'll recognize it on the Caller ID. If it isn't anyone I know, then I don't care if I missed the call.

what's wrong with a travel agent?

if I wanted to put together a complex trip (eg: multiple foreign countries/cities) and didn't want to devote weeks of researching all the travel arrangements myself, why not consider hiring an expert?

I can see why you included teachers. Punctuation, spelling, and subject-verb agreement fail in one response.

A lot of these jobs will disappear within the next 20 years.

I am amazed at how many bank agents there are. Sure you want to talk to someone when you open an account but the ATM can do just about everything from there except open additional accounts (investment accounts) and close accounts and open loans. Those guys are always doing nothing the few times I have gone into a bank in the last 10 years.
