Somewhat expected to see the #Occupy protesters being manipulated by one union against another unions members.
http://tdn.com/news/local/protest-p...e1-aac5-001871e3ce6c.html?oCampaign=hottopics

"The ILWU has protested the terminal since the summer, arguing that EGT's lease agreement with the Port of Longview requires the company to hire Local 21 members to work inside the terminal. EGT officials disagree and instead hired a Federal Way-based contractor who employ union operating engineers from Oregon and Southwest Washington.

"We expect the ILWU will respect the ongoing legal process, which includes an injunction prohibiting them from blocking any ingress or egress to the facility in Longview," EGT President Larry Clarke said in a written statement Friday".................................
"Individual union members have shown support for the Occupy cause. On Friday night, Occupy members held a planning meeting in downtown Seattle to organize the ship protest that included representatives from ILWU Local 21 as guest speakers."

Is it just me, or has the media been boycotting the Occupy Wall Street movement lately? I haven't seen any reports about them for at least a month-and-a-half. OWS got run over by the Republican primary.

Not a boycott, more of a "people no longer care, the ratings on stories about OWS are down, so we are going to move on" type of thing.

When the #Occupy movement started the usual suspects (progressives, liberals, Democrats and the media) were energized. They thought it was going to be a new Vietnam-era anti-war protest movement with all the social change that came with it. Huge mobs of protesters marching valiantly against "the man" changing the world, changing America and changing capitalism.
Instead they got a mob of dirty, not very bright, greedy (what's in it for me) leaderless clowns with twinkling fingers that did nothing but camp their asses out in public parks and whine about everything is so unfair, give me money, pay my debts and where's the food? They thought the whole leaderless approach with everything being voted on and no one taking any responsibility was some new wave of political thinking. Instead they got no decisions, no movement, no results.
I'm just keeping track of #Occupy to continue to make fun of them and to show how they are willing and useful idiots for the unions and other leftist causes to use and abuse.

Well said. Living in NYC and witnessing them firsthand during my commute, I've been wondering what's been happening with them.

I think I got my closure.

Keep ignoring OWS, that's working so well, even Republicans are using OWS themes to bash each other

Not ignoring, I want their message and motives heard loud and clear showing who they really are and what they really believe.

Yeah, I was wondering where that "ignoring OWS" came from seeing as this thread is months long and updated every few days.

As said all along they have zero respect for private property rights, one of the corner stones of communism. And people still try to deny this.

What part of "occupy" do folks not understand? Their goal is to occupy property that is not theirs. It was said at least a month ago their next goal and target is to occupy homes. In most states they can be shot if they try to pull this shit. Please, please, please occupiers, keep doing this!

OWS last week said it has spent $9,500 breaking into the house and setting it up for the homeless Carrasquillo family. A photo of the smiling family covers a window, under the slogan, “A place to call home.”

Blah, blah, blah. Continuing to cherry pick the 3% -- or less -- that reinforce your emotional beliefs while ignoring the 97% that counter them. But hey, reality is for "liberals", right Spidey?

So you deny this story and the occupiers all around the country specifically stating they would "occupy" foreclosed homes without the owners permission? You haven't been paying attention, this was their stated goal and "next step" (read back in the thread, it was posted many times but you choose to ignore it). I can't wait till they try that in a state with castle doctrine as lethal force is totally justified on people who are unlawfully in your home.

I apologize. I forgot English is a foreign language for you, and unfortunately I don't speak Loon. I'm saying there are tens of thousands of OWS protestors, and only a miniscule subset of them are engaged in occupying homes or businesses (where "occupy" means something with permanence, not a protest of a few hours). I'm saying your cognitive dissonance is so overpowering that you are incapable of seeing the ~97% of OWS that is NOT engaged in such activities because they do not match your deluded preconceptions of what OWS must be.

I'll also note that your continued zeal for killing people engaged in non-violent protests marks you as both unbalanced and un-American. I realize some people are compelled to be apologists for corruption, useful idiots for the greedy elite, but that doesn't justify violence. You desperately need help.

Illegally entering one's home via breaking and entering (itself a violent act) is grounds for lethal force by the homeowner, they are not protesters at that point. They are trying to steal what is rightfully his. Protecting one's property is about as American as it can get, it's one of our founding principles - property rights, it's the opposite of communism.

Remember when they occupied other private property and business illegally? This is not an isolated incident, this is the next step as they've been saying all along.

They're going to keep trying this until some patriotic homeowner shoots them and then they'll have the kent state moment they so desire.

You know in war only a small subset of soldiers are actually killing people, does that mean it isn't war?

Another Fail. Only a small subset of Republicans are gay-bashing closet homosexuals. Only a small subset of Republicans are KKK members. Does that mean it is OK to denounce the entire party for their behavior? No.

Another article on #Occupy from Canada. It's an interesting perspective.

"Next week hordes of them plan to Occupy Congress, a protest that could spark confrontations with the U.S. Capitol Police and lead to arrests."

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/hard-landing-for-helicopter-parents-137371238.html

"The camps are full of a wide range of ages and socioeconomic backgrounds, sure. But the movement's biggest population and primary strategists are the twentysomething Millennials forever burdened with their parents' insistence on participation trophies for every team member.

So now the Occuparents find themselves struggling with whether to support their child's participation in a sweeping, political protest movement and the fact that their cul-de-sac kids are living in total squalor.

Sam Jewler, one of the four protesters who staged a dramatic hunger strike in the name of D.C. voting rights, fasted for 11 days -- until his parents nagged him into eating.

His dad, Bethesda resident Leonard Jewler, was featured in a Marc Fisher blog post years ago when he tried to answer parental school angst with a data analysis of whether kids from D.C. public schools ascend to the same calibre of colleges as kids who go to private schools."
