Oh make no mistake, I want their message to be heard and the democrats supporting them. It exposes the left's true mission.

They arrested people on homeless ordinances. Big deal.

You don't want their message to be heard. They are the 99% and the truth is if they are aligned they can and will dominate the country. Things like foodstamps and welfare prevent the poor masses from rising up as it placates them enough to keep them from true rage.

The wealthiest individuals that control corporations and the government have taken to the point where they are now falling into the tragedy of the commons. They have pillaged the 99% for more than they should have and are pointing the finger at each other.

If their message does get out it will resonate. If you truly wanted their message to be heard you wouldn't spend your time offering your negative commentary with it. You would just repeat it and let their words be enough.

Great! Recent polls show support for OWS to be running at more than 50%, so it appears that people are hearing their message and liking it very much! This comes in comparison to the Tea Party, whose popularity is running somewhere only slightly north of Dracula.

The people are speaking, spidey! They are finally waking up, and they're coming for you... just like in all your insane, paranoid fantasies.

"We the people" indeed.

oh look, now they are going to protest the wars.

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/10/14/busy-weekend-planned-for-occupy-wall-street-protesters/

“Wall Street Is War Street.”

And they think that “Move your money, CHASE’s money is our money!"

OUR money. I thought this wasn't a communist thing. someone didn't get the memo.

Meanwhile

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/10/iphone-4s-preorders-break_n_1003205.html

"NEW YORK — Apple says first-day pre-orders of the iPhone 4S topped 1 million, breaking the record set by last year's model."

I thought the 99% are dead broke, and are being robbed of all their money.

so are only the 1% buying a 2100 dollar phone? (200 for phone $80/month). Apple must be a good thief stealing all that money.

Or they are talking about the nearly $100 billion of taxpayer (ie: our) money that Chase has gotten in recent years.

Are you being deliberately obtuse here?

But the occupiers are complaining about no jobs, meaning they don't have one, meaning they don't pay taxes.

So it's not their non-working, non-tax paying money.

Except they are of course on the hook for it in the future and many of them had jobs before the crash.

Cry some more spidey! The People are waking up. They hate the Tea Party, and they like Occupy Wall Street. Aren't you happy that finally the will of The People is coming forth?

Both. It is a privately owned public space. The owners of the park are not allowed to restrict access to it if that's what you're getting at though.

I was trying to figure out who actually owned it. Is it an individual, the city, or the state?

It's a corporation that had to create that space as part of an agreement with the city in relation to the height of their office building when they built it way back when. The corporation owns the land, but what they are allowed to do with it is highly restricted.

That's probably the reason they were pushing the sanitation angle on clearing the park, because otherwise they wouldn't be able to boot the people out of it. Oh, and the sanitation thing is BS anyway, the park is no dirtier than tons of other areas in NYC. (not that that's saying a lot, haha)

Is it your money? Doesn't your wife work for the government?

This money:

In the last 30 years the US economy more than doubled. Over 80% of the income growth has gone to 1%; none to 80% after inflation. That money is what they have stolen.

I can concur no raise in the last 10 years Company wide where I work.

I meant the Colorado one that was quoted in my post. It just said they were in front of the Capitol.

These people aren't even the 99% of welfare people. They might be the 99% of stupid people, though - the usual suspects, chanting the same old slogans against capitalism, independence, war and "unfairness" as in any other left wing protest.

Leave your garbage unattended and you'll attract rats seeking an easy meal. Structure society with lots of hand-outs and you'll attract the human equivalent seeking an easy meal and free electronics. This is merely the inevitable side effect of trying to help people who actually can't support themselves - people who simply won't support themselves. These are the people who never outgrew the childhood stage of believing that everyone else exists for your benefit and that you are entitled to what you want for the mere fact of existence.

LOL That sounds like the same crap the G.O.P.was shoveling in the late 60's with the Vietnam War protests

I'm not talking about the few thousands in streets in various cities. Some of which do work and stop by on their days off BTW. I'm talking about those who agree with and support the cause, the majority of the population. If recent wage numbers and unemployment numbers continue or get worse, which is very likely, you are sure to see more people support the cause.

What kind of work are you in that you haven't had a raise in 10 years? Company wide average where I work is close to 3.75% per year for the last 10 years.

Manufacturing sector in the Injection molding which is relentlessly hammered by Companies going over seas to China to get their molds built.

Umm, most of that money has been paid back. Money they got was loaned.

Who's being obtuse here?

Who's being obtuse here?

Money they took with no interest, threw into treasury bills to earn interest (paid for by whom?) and then paid back after they posted profits. We also took plenty of bad loans off the books of banks and now hold them (despite being way overpriced). Plus there is the trillions of hidden money that we don't know where it went because we aren't allowed to know.

Who's being obtuse here?

how nice for you. one raise outside of piddly COL increases that dont keep up with inflation(1-2%) in the last 5 years(Gov't IT)

its absurd how many people are dissmissing this idea as absurd. how anyone in their right mind can be OK with these guys blowing the bail out money, stealing houses, and giving themselves big bonus's for it, are insane.

yes, part of the blame goes to the legislature for being their bitch, and enabling them. but seriously.

shits fucked up. did it directly affect me? nope, the housing crashed helped me bigtime. that doesnt mean I think its OK just because I am not struggling.

look at cain's 999 plan. going to rape the middle class and ease the load on the wealthy, great. obama's last plan called for raising middle class taxes and lower the riches as well if I recall correctly. both sides are trying to screw us.
