It wasn't directed at me, but one of the suggestions i've made about a partial/beginning solution to governmental corruption that is one of the goals of Occupy is to have term limits on existing and future federal politicians. I can't see how a Senator or a Rep. that has been serving for 30/40 or over 50 years isn't ass deep in political corruption. They're either a major part of it or they've enabled it over the course of their stay. It's always the forum members on the far left that oppose this suggestion, it seems to me that as far as they're concerned political corruption, as long as it favors their side, is just fine.

Term limits are a terrible idea, and they should be opposed no matter where you are on the political spectrum. Their end result would be a massive weakening of the legislature as compared to the presidency, and I think executive power in this country is far too strong already.

I think there are valid issues with term limits, as Eskimospy points out, for example. Nonetheless, I tend to agree with you. Term limits are not ideal, but what we have now is a disaster for democracy. Much of that is due to professional politicians, dedicated to a lifetime of serving the special interests who've bought them.
