Which of these 3 processors (P4 2,4C;P42,8C;P43,0C) is the most overclockable and what is the best air cooling solution for them??

ummm....

If you want best overclockable for a total overclock or % wise?

% wise 2.4 beats them all hands down as it can do up to 3.4+ so about 1gig overhead (of course 3.4 is very rare for a 2.4 in comparison to 3.4 on a 3.0ghz)

If you want the best bang for the buck right now 2.8C will be the best as it costs $165 and will do 3.5ghz if you take your time overclocking and get a decent chip. 3.4ghz right now of course will have the greatest overclocking room and will probably do 3.6 - 3.7 on air.

So my choice would be 2.8 for best price/performance and overclocking at the moment on P4C side of course.

For cooling i'd recommend:
Zalman CNPS7000AlCu, A-AlCu, Cu, and A-Cu - either one is amazing
The best possible performance probably Thermalright SLK-948U or SP-94 coupled with a fan of your choice depending on how cool and loud you want it.

Cheers.

I've been running my 2.4C at 3.06 for several months now. She runs at 30C idle / 40C load according to Asus Probe. I've even gotten my rig all they way up to 3.2, but backed down b/c I noticed my benchmark scores were not increasing significant enough. I'm currently using a Thermaltake Spark 7, but I recently just ordered a Thermalright sp94 and NB1 so I will attempt a 3.4 oc soon.

RS has it right. The 2.8C M0 that I got from Newegg a few weeks ago does 3.5GHz at default voltage on an Asus P4P800! I use the SP-94 with a Panaflo 92mm "H" and my temps are in the mid 30's idle, and mid 40's load. It could probably do more, but I'm truly comfortable with the temps and performance where it's at now. Picked up 1GB of Geil PC4000 to run it at 1:1 and it absolutely flies!

well, i would say the P4 2.4c. ive had two of these bad boys and both did 3.6Ghz straight out the box on stock cooling at 1.625v. they were of course sl6z3 m0 steppings and were made in costa rica...go figure.

for benchmarking and encoding, bandwidth pwns...

for gaming, clockspeed pwns...

but typically go with the lower multiplier chips since they do not generate as much heat. if you ever decide to move up into the watercooling/phase change realm, then go for the higher multipliers.
