Ya I just read a HardOCP review and they said the power difference was massive...
I read the chart it was 40 freaking watts for full system usage....



I have one of these and what the lightbulbs come at a minimum of 40 watts? That's a "MASSIVE" difference now?

they are americans, massive means little in the UK and average in Europe.
Thier culture tends to add things to make a BIGGER splash..

47W when system power for the 980 rig is in the 320W range is in line with its performance advantage in when GW is disabled, or compared to other reviews with MANY more games, actually puts that ASUS Fury as being more power efficient.

Well that is disappointing to see. I saw what Silver was posting in the other thread and was about to give AMD the kudos.

Really crappy of people to falsify scores on forums. It gains nothing but ruin their credibility and create false expectations.

So were the driver calls improvements also false info?

Everyone on guru3d posting improvements was using an older card and not fury.

Going back to the source, they mention HBM which sort of alludes to Fury X. So that in itself is misleading.

Note that it is just on stock clock. No OC, nor HBM OC.

Huge gains on 7950, 7970 and R290s. I can't be certain for Fury since I don't have it on hand to test (no stock in all the stores near me). But lots of users on OCUK & OC3D post with Fury Xbenchmarks, I doubt they lie, one of the poster is the editor on a review site (royfrosty) that did one of the first Fury X reviews. He found gains in FC4, SoM and Thief.

So at this point, its HWC's testing versus users & an editor from another hardware site.

Not really convincing performance since Fury doesn't scale that well into lower resolutions and GTX980 can be OCed alot.

I wonder how the up and coming stronger games will treat amd at these lower res's.
at 4k they are stronger cards [heavy loads] , once the new games put more of a load on todays cards @ 1440/1080 will nv slow down more than amd like they do at 4k today ?

hardocp confirmed significant gains in FC4.

So its not as if SKYMTL is the only reviewer in town and only his views matter. Hopefully AMD keeps improving on games where perf scaling over R9 390X is very poor like Dragon Age, GTA V, Dying Light etc so that atleast Fury Nano can shake up the pricing in the GPU market.
