Hey I just saw information about this product posted over on FW thanks to
'salivation'.

It is the best deal I've seen yet on some moderately fast (PC-6400/800 MHz)
DDR2 2x2GB 4GB kit memory.

It is only a few dollars more than I've paid for slower 667MHz memory recently,
so if I had no memory already I'd probably buy these.

Ugh.. just shows me that in my near future is a 4 gig upgrade. It's too cool to see programs load instantly in Vista to not have as much memory as my computer can hold

Now that 2 stick 4 gig kits are coming in under $200 people with 2 DIMM slot motherboards will be getting in on the 4 gig action.

Not necessarily, a lot of older mobos that only have 2 DIMM slots don't support 2 gig modules. I wanted to upgrade a mobo with only 2 slots, but its max is 2 gig

how compatible are these with 650i's or p35's.....p965 was prty much a ram-compatability-nightmare for me. so how are these?

well 2gb sticks are not good overclocker at all.. no matter who makes them. If you want to OC, just stick 4 sticks of 1G in it.

Last time i checked those are micron based, so you compatibility shouldn't be much problems. Just make sure you have the latest bio

Caveat Emptor -- Beware:

I've not bought these myself because, as I said, I previously bought several GBy
of slower RAM before this deal showed up.

I was thinking of getting this RAM anyway, though, so
I read a little about the OCZ rebate experience, though, over at the FW site.

There are a few people saying that OCZ is very very slow / bad to deal with
processing rebates correctly. I don't know how representative the 'horror story'
'it took months of nagging' / 'it didn't come at all' situations are, but they give reasonable
warning to be very cautious about the rebates involved here.

It's a shame, since it's a very tempting after rebate price on well a reputed
brand of memory that's reasonably high speed.

i've never had any problems with their rebates.. and i've bought quite a few sets for personal and work just in recent month.

look at the form it does say 20 days after purchase.. which i think is pretty reasonable compare to other places... they used to 14 days or some thing. looks like enough people complained.. and they changed it.
