Seems like a solid deal on a solid drive to me.

Edit: IMHO, this is a MUCH better, and higher-performance drive than the PNY Optima line.

These drives do have a firmware update. There is a bug in their 480GB model, hence the lower review score on Newegg, which is supposedly fixed in the 1.01 firmware update.

Ordered one of these drives saturday, supposed to show up today. Don't technically qualify for the rebate since the purchase was supposed to be made 2/23 or later.

I might send in the packing slip dated 2/23 since thats listed as a proof of purchase on the rebate forms. Can't hurt to try I guess. Not really worth worrying about other than being annoyed that the rebate came out right after I ordered it.

Virtual Larry, thanks for the mention of the firmware update. I may be installing one of these drives tonight if it shows up. Also that may make the 480gb drive a great deal if it fixes the issues with the drive.

Not a bad drive it seems. Time will tell about reliability.

Should make a decent desktop SSD but prob. better choices for laptops since the drive doesn't support DevSleep, so tends to use more power in sleep vs. others.

A minor quibble is the lack of TCG Opal encryption. Will matter to some, not to others.
