<< Anyone have a feeling that Mr. N here is a disgruntled formal employee? Kind of odd how much access he had to an empty store....

Kind of sucks for OCZ since several major hardware sites were praising their products in review.
>>

I don't know how 'major' a site you are referring to, but I know that there are several hardware review sites that are fully funded by this company.
>>

I find both of these sites rather reputable and I don't belive they are on the OCZ payroll....

<< I happened to find (in google search a while ago) that www.nutrend.com shares exactly same photos and web page template design as newegg. >>

Actually a lot of stores use the same store front/shopping cart programs, so it wouldn't be too far of a streach to have similar websites, however this one is pretty close to newegg's design (try the build your own PC link and view their items by catagory... looks very newegg'ish.)

Weird!!!

Last night I was doing some research - basically what memory was the best to get performancewise? Corsair, Mushkin, Samsung, Kingmax, or OCZ
??

I found several reviews:

Link 1 to UK PC Powerzone
look at the pictures of the heat spreader - do not remove! PC3000 samsung chips

Here's another one, OCPRICES
PC3000 Hynix chips - LINKED FROM NEWEGG!, editors choice. Copper spreader this time

Viahardware - BUT Take a look! the manufacturing facility looks up to par, if these are real pictures
Corporate headquarters - CHICAGO, IL Manufacturing - Fremont, CA No mention of chips used

But Wait?!?!?!? I thought these guys were from Portage, IN, just about an hour away from where I live.

Odd, inconsistant chips on each "rated" pc3000 and now pc3200. I suspected this last night when i read the lines about how buying OCZ you can get something that won't overclock well at all.

Fraud?!?!?! I think so, OCZ has a lot of explaining to do, otherwise those people have been paying $30 or so extra for a generic brand.

If you want decent memory get some samsung PC2700, it overclocks really well or Corsair if you've got deep pockets and i've also had good luck with Mushkin. And crucial for everything else

15 pages on mad onion, lets see if i've repeated anything from there

-Got Proof (I think) they are the same or at least owned by the same company look at this link in there store selling a new egg case badge? Fishy
http://www.nutrend.com/app/Catalog.asp?Code=2&manufactory=1552
-Also on another form I see someone states they are the same...
http://www.hotdealsclub.com/text/newegg1/
-Further more they also run http://www.buyabs.com see my whois reports below.....so thats three companys I found so far run by one corperation?

From what I can see they may be the same, although the owners are diffeent. I did a whois on all thre domains and althought they arent far from each other they are under different owners.

Regarding this Newegg-Nutrend thing, have you happened to take a look at their PRICING? I was doing a pricewatch search a few days ago and found that these places have the exact same prices on their stuff. I am thinking that Nu-Trend (who I seem to remember advertising pre-built computers in Computer Shopper magazine a while back) has just got some kind of agreement to basically "host" newegg's website on theirs, kinda like circuit city and target have with amazon.com, just not clearly advertised as such.

Didn't MWave have a notice on their site a couple months back that they are NOT affiliated with Newegg but nonetheless flattered that Newegg would copy their design?

I ordered a refurb case from Newegg and it came in with an ABS badge (Nutrend) on the case. I think they must be connected somehow. BTW, the case was a server model and was unused. Doesn't matter to me, I love Newegg anyway!
