I bought a set of these when it was first posted and I recently bought a set of the OCZ DDR2-8800 (PC2-1100) Gold, for a total of 4Gb in an EVGA 680i system, which is not very RAM friendly. Running linked and synced at 800, 2.05V, with an e6400 humming along at 3.2 GHz.

I had been running this black set by itself at 1.875V, but the Gold 8800 needed extra juice to be stable. Which is why I'm swapping the 8800 out and putting in another set of the 8500 for a total of 4GB of the sexy black heat spreaders. The 8800 will go into another machine. Maybe run Vista or something on that.

This way, I can lower the voltage (hopefully) of the ram back down below 1.9V. The EVGA 680i can be spiky for RAM, even voltage tolerant D9's.

I just place my order, it came to $222.59 with free shipping and tax to GA. When I printed out the $10.00 rebate form the date on it form 3/16/2007 to 3/23/2007. Looks like the dates posted on Fry's website are wrong they say 3/16/2007 to 3/20/2007.

Anyway, I have read some decent reviews on this ram so I hope I don't run into any problems using them on my GA-965P-DS3, rev 3.3, I just ordered from ewiz for $131.33 shipped. Also bought a tuniq tower last week to go with the new system.

It's actually a BR, which is the version they give you when you've RMA'ed an AR. Funny enough, 5 days after I got it they announced the A1 and T1. So now I'm wait for an A1. Hmm, wonder if they'll call it a B1. My AR was still working but RAM slot 1 died for some reason, though the stick in it was fine. Moved them to slots 2 and 4 and while waiting for the RMA.
