Okay, this is not going to be a review, but to give you an idea of what and how I feel
about this fan and heatsink. Okay the OCZ GOLIATH SE HSF can be bought at
Newegg.com for $25.00 + $6.95 Shipped!

When I first opened up the box I noticed that the heatsink was moving around just
a little bit. Once I took it out the box my eyes blew wide open and I was awe-struck
on the construction of this fan. I can tell by the look of the fan that it was a very high quality fan. It came
with the clear base to accomdate the 80mm fan that it came with. However, no instructions were
included with the GOLIATH SE. Although putting together this fan/heatsink took me about
5 minutes. It was very easy to put together and based on the appearance of the fan
it seemed self explanitory. As I placed the fan on top the heatsink I was kind of nervous
to see whether or not the GOLIATH SE was going to fit onto my Epox 8KT3A+ mobo.
However, it fit without a problem! I think spreaded some Artic silver on the AMD 1800+ XP
and placed the fan on top of the CPU. The clips were kind of tricky to place onto the socket,
however, once they are on, they stay for good!

Okay here we go! Once I fired up my CPU, MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS LIKE "WOOOOWW!"
I litteraly, couldn't believe how quiet this fan is! I was so used to hearing my ThermalRight
SK-6 w/ 38CFM/7000RPM fan. That sounded like a hair dryer! This almost sounds like a stock fan! Now
my CD-Rom/DVD-rom drives make more noise on the boot up than the GOLIATH SE! I then checked my
temps on mobo in the BIOS and the temps read 41C and that was at 1.53Ghz @ 1.8V. Not bad at all! I then
proceeded to do a little Ocing to give the GOLIATH SE a little work out. I got up to 1.62 Ghz @ 1.8V
with a temp of 48C-49C. This is amazing!!!!!!! This fan is doing a much better job than my
SK-6 + 60mm fan with very, very quiet results. This fan deserves to be on anyones list! Just
check the review at 3DGameMan.com to give you an idea of the capability of this fan! It is truley an AWESOME HEATSINK/FAN!

Yeah there may be better fans out there that can probably cool at much lower temps, but you
can't definately get any better than the Goliath SE. By all means this fan should rank among one the
better 80mm fans. For under $33 shipped it can't be beat. The ThermalRight AX-7 heatsink is right around
$30, let alone a nice fan with that will cost you another $10-$15. So if anyone is looking for a good
fan that can cool pretty good and is EXTREMELY/VIRTUALLY/PIN-DROP Quiet than this fan will make a good
cooler!

It may very well be an OCZ. However, about every manuf. rebadges! I just went
with the OCZ based on reviews. I haven't heard of SVC.

To tell ya the truth I was going to buy an TR AX-7 w/ a quiet fan, but that would
have cost me over $45 shipped! So this is a considerable amount of savings based
on the performance that I getting right now!

Check out this review of all of the coolers Here!

This will give you an idea of the best coolers that are out there! Also keep in mind the
80CFM on the AX-7 is way too noisy for me! Although the results are good!

I am going to underclock my CPU to an AMD 1600+ XP to give you an idea of where mine
corresponds to the rest of the coolers!

Okay just to justify what I mentioned, my fan/heatsink would be at the bottom
of the pile. However, what counts is that I am happy. It completely destroys
my SK6 + 38CFM combo with lower noises. I can hear again!

My temps read 43C @ 1.71V. However, I did decrease my voltage. Although
it was only about 5C difference! Overall, I wouldn't hesistate recommending
this heatsink/fan. I really like it and it does a great job for me!

As far as, the OCZ thing, I am not going to get wrapped up in all the hype. If
it gets a favorable on any of their products then I doesn't bother me one bit.

I will never ever buy any product from OCZ.

I don't care if Gena Lee Nolin supports them.

AX-7 with an H1A cost me around $34 shipped or so. Be even cheaper with an L1A or M1A on it. Where you been shopping at?

Shaorinor,
What fan is the H1A, L1A or M1A? I am confused in which brand you are talking about.
Well I got the OCZ from Newegg.com for $25 + $6.95 shipped. However, not bad, but
I will tell ya what! I just ordered an AX-7 heatsink and I will place the 80mm fan on
to see if it makes a difference in temps. I will let you know!

L1A, M1A, H1A and U1A fans are made by Panaflo and are considered some of the best, quiet fans out there.

I bought an AX-7 from KDComputers.com for like $22-$24? And then picked up a Panaflo H1A from case-mod.com for $7.99 or so. Came out to probably around the same price you bought the Goliath for shipped...maybe $2 higher or something.

Shaorinor,
Thanks for your suggestisons for the AX-7 and Panaflo fans. I may just order one of the
Panaflo's. Let me ask you! What kind of temps are you getting with the AX-7/Panaflo
combo? Where is CPU speed at, at what temp, and the voltage?
