Damn impulse buys. :disgust:

In for a set, not that I am running short on DDR2.

i got these at $47 a few days ago. Here are some prelim results:

They passed memtest 4x at DDR2-922 4-4-4-12 PL8 TfRC38 @1.9v. (461x2.0D)

They passed memtest 20x at DDR2-1100 5-5-5-12 PL7 tfRC46 @1.8v. (411x2.66D)

They passed memtest 20x at DDR2-1160 5-5-5-15 PL7 tfRC50 @ 1.9v. (435x2.66D)

They passed memtest 1x at DDR2-1188 5-5-5-18 PL7 tfRC60 @1.9v. (445x2.66D)

I see it as an investment. Some of the RAM I still have was purchased for under $30 after rebate for a 4GB kit, and I think I even got a kit or two for around $20-25 after rebate. Got all the rebates, and free shipping all-round.

These days $44 shipped is about the cheapest as prices have gone up.

This will likely be the last DDR2 I buy. Only reason is that besides the price, I'm intrigued by the low voltage.

It is very possible that these sticks using cream of the crop IC's can best most DDR3 modules.

1.8v for what is normally 2.1-2.2v vdimm for the rest of the sticks out there. Same speed at 22% less voltage. I see very high potential for these sticks when thrown into a DDR2 system that can hit high FSB speeds (im thinking IP35-e and up.)

just imagine what is possible if you feed these babies even just a mild 2.0v, a greater than 10% increase in vdimm, so its possible to expect a 10% increase in stable memory speed.

got mine today.

just threw the eight gigs of this in my msi p35 neo2 f/r mainboard replacing four sticks of corsair xms2.

flashed to a hacked bios for fixing a multiplier issue for my Q9550 I put in yesterday.

got everything at 3638 right now (427x8.5) using a 1:1.25 memory divider for the ddr1067 speed on the memory.

i wish i had a 1:1.33 divider, but the next one is 1:1.5 which is probably too aggressive for the mch, four sticks, and lastly i havent thrown over 1.85v to it yet. will tweak it some more tommorow, im testing double orthos for temps and stability test.

i was also quite pleased that when i inspected the sticks that i had received sequential number serials on the sticks.

all the numbers on the s/n sticker match up except for the last digit, leads me to believe that this is about as closed to matched memory as you can get. unlike my corsair memory which even in the dual channel kits themselves werent sequential at all.

I bought a pair two days ago, we'll see how it goes when I receive them. I don't *need* them, but I figured $45 for a pair of really fast 1.85V DDR2 DIMMs was more than acceptable.

(For reference, my current 4x1GB of SuperTalent DDR2-667 cost me about $180 when I bought them...)

Any reason this memory is discontinued everywhere and lacking reviews? , I ordered one but debating on cancelling, got charged sales tax too.

For anyone who's ordered these already -- what color were the dimm's PCB? Green or black?

Hey, an extra 2% performance!
Are you making fun of me ? I'm not putting any green sticks of RAM on my black motherboard next to my black+chrome Apogee GTZ.

Now shouldn't you be polishing your RAM collection or something ?

(And yes, the set I got this afternoon did have black PCBs. So it's all good.)

No, it is the truth.

(and yes, I polished them all up last weekend - shiney heatspreaders are the BOMB!)

It says $47.40 now. In for 2 myself as I slowly obtain parts for my next computer (Opteron 146 currently, going to Phenom x2 550 probably).

I always forget how much faster a PC is when ~doubling the RAM. I went from 2GBs to 3.25GBs and my box seems a LOT faster in every respect. Can't wait to upgrade from WinXP 32bit to Win7 so all 8GBs will be utilized.
