OCZ Modstream 520w....with Poll!

I suppose it may be a repost, but after seeing many threads on here it seems that quite a few people are experiancing low 12v rails and such with these PSU's. I'd like one, the modular design and the 12cm fan are a big plus, and it has 28a on the 12v rail, but it seems that most people are having problems, so i just wanna check if that's a common thing or wat. I've had enough problems with my build so far, so i just wanna find out if it's too common and i should buy something else or.

I'm wondering about the same thing; I was going to buy the 450 version but read several complaints about the low 12V rails, so I am now having second thoughts.

I think you'd be fine with either the 450 or 520 Modstream

I wouldn't either, but that's because I use all of the connectors on my psu making the modular thing kinda useless.

I can accept that. Just curious if there was something inherently wrong with them that I was unaware of.

ok, so i guess totaled up i have 9 votes saying it's ok, with 3 saying it's not.

I'll probably go for the 520w version, and i may order it tonight. If there are any reasons i shouldnt that u know of plz let me know!!!

Definately get the OCZ Modstream. But wait, you already have a Fortron Blue Storm, which is a very good PSU.

So do I, but the modstream is still worth it since the cables look so good and are UV reactive, althought they are a bit hard to bend. Plus the PSU itself has a mirror finish and blue LED fan which is extremely quiet. Btw, I'm having no problems with the rails on my 450w modstream.

If any of u care, i just ordered my own OCZ Modstream 520w PSU from newegg. I ended up waiting a bit more to get it ordered, but it should be shipped tomorrow and should be here by next Tues-Wednesday.

Anyways, i'll let u know the voltages when it comes!

I have been using it for about 2 weeks with my A8N-SLi Deluxe and have had no problems. It replaced an antec true 550 and seems to be a little tighter on the voltages actually.

Why not get the Power Stream 420? I'd take that over the Mod 520.

I ordered a OCZ Modstream 520w from Newegg and it's been working perfectly fine in my system. I've burn tested my computer in a few tests for nearly two weeks now. Part of it was trying to get a stable cpu overcock. That took up quite a few nights. Except for my overclocked graphics card heating up due to lack of cooling on the modded x800 pro to x800 xt gpu ram it's been running fine. System runs fine when I dial down the ram speed. Guess I gotta get a better hsf for it. I've even opened up the case and given it the old sniff test and there isn't a heavy ozone smell that you get when a system is near the frying stage.
