Will the 24 pin connector from an ocz powerstream 520w and/or any other connectors have any trouble in a p180?

here's a pic of my motherboard so you can see where the 24 pin connector has to go

msi neo4-f

and if its not, which psu's have long enough cables?

The OCZ Powerstream 520w probably will not fit...it has a short cable length.

Enermax PSUs have server-length cables and they are what I'd recommend for use in a P180

why do people say this..do you own an ocz powerstream...I do and the cable length seems fine

Does anyone have a OCZ Powerstream that does not work.....

I saw at forums hardwarezone...there is a member with OCZ 420w psu and P180 with no issues...I realize a mobo has a lot to do with this

I own a Neo2 Plat..just ordered the P180...I see no issue with the atx power lead because of mobo placement...the only concern is 4pin at the top...but I am hopping this is not issue..I may not be able to hide the lead...but I think it will reach

If not I will get an adapter

Yes, I own the Powerstream 520w and the cables are nowhere near the length of my Enermax power supplies. I found the OCZ cable length to be tight in an Antec CS600 (where the PSU is mounted, traditional-style, at the top of the case where it's nearest the ATX connector on the motherboard). Looking at the P180, where the PSU sits at the bottom and the cables have that much farther to reach...I don't see how it would be possible. I like to tuck my cables behind the motherboard for maximum cooling and it would seem to me that in the P180 I'd have to place at least have the ATX power cable dangling over the board and that's just not my style

well there is no doubt on some mobos there maybe issues with the ATX cable but on the Neo2 Plat..it is mid board and I think it will reach fine..but I should know later this week...

I have a OCZ 520 Powerstream as well..except with a Neo 2 Plat..my atx power plug is light lower but not by much...based upon my Antec Sx830 case I think it will reach from lower chamber and I bet yours will too...just slightly higher ..if it were at the top of the mobo..doubt it would reach....

for me the real question is if the 4pin connector will reach?

I ordered the case Sun before process went up but still has not shipped yet

I asked this question (with respect to the P180 combined with the DFI NF4 Ultra-D MB) on DFI-Street, and the response was that the OCZ Powerstream's 520W cables should be plenty long for the P180.

I have the P180, an OCZ Modstream 520W and am getting an ASUS A8N-E motherboard.

So far, I've noticed the cables are very difficult to bend, I had to install the PSU upside down to get it to fit, and the cable reaches about mid to 3/4 of the way to the top of the P180, so if you have a power slot towards the back of the mobo it's not going to reach, however I'm hoping my setup works, I'll be able to comment better on thursday when I put everything together

I just went with an Antec Truepower...after all, Antec's PSU's have to work in an Antec case. Right?

The Modstream and the P180 will not work. The cables are too stiff to make it out of the PSU chamber. And are WAY too short.

FYI: the OCZ 520W Powerstream fits but the getting the 4pin cpu connector to top of mobo on my Neo 2 Plat has to go over pci and its a tight fit..atx connector is midmobo and no issues...the cables that are sleeved are very stiff and hard to move in any case

This is one well thought out cases except for the big lower chamber fan...I had to remove it what a bitch

The Chamber fan isn't useful if you have a PSU with a fan. It is recommended that you use the fan at the front of the case blowing towards the HDD and the PSU when your PSU has a fan.

I am confused...

I agree about fan blowing on the HDD..not so easy in the lower chamber which is why my HDD are in the upper chamber

Just got my Asus A8N-E, and the OCZ Modstream WILL NOT FIT.

It's so close, yet so far =/

The cables are too stiff, and it will not bend to plug in. It's about an inch too short plus the cables would still have to bend over to plug in and it doesn't have enough room to do that even if they were an inch longer.

It's too bad too, the OCZ is an awesome PSU, now I hope Monarch will let me exchange it for something that will fit.
