Powerstream. The Modstreams are supposed to be worse performers, and anyway I'm not sure I trust the contacts of those modular cables.
OT: I feel there are better options out there, but what you do with your money is really no business of mine.
OCZ Powerstream 520W is superior. It is suited more for gamers and people with high end needs.
OCZ Powerstream 520W > Seasonic 500W
I sincerely doubt you have anything to back these statements up. Note that "I bought a Powerstream and it works real good" is not justification, and neither is "I heard about a Seasonic breaking on these forums".
That might have been a little blunt. I mean no offense, here, and I realize this thread is about the OP's question, but saying things like that is going to mislead people. You should never make general statements like that unless you have
solid, objective evidence that one is simply better than the other. Of course, as you no doubt feel that you do have exactly that, feel free to attempt to disprove me. Just keep it impersonal and try not to derail the thread.
well sorry for trying to help them save money with similar performance parts.
I take it you don't often build PCs for people. It IS the customer's money, and if they are initially resistant there is little point in pushing them towards something that you consider better. Besides, if their choice goes bad, they're not going to blame you. This is what "the customer is always right" means-- even if the customer is misguided, they're not going to yell at you when
their decision goes bad, but they're less likely to be satisfied if a decision YOU make works out well enough. It's kind of covering your own ass over making sure that everyone gets the best build, but hey, if they're happy...
