I'm having some troubles with my OCZ ram I just purchased:
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/m...z_el_ddr_pc_3200_dual_channel_platinum
I can hit 2.7ghz fine on my 3200 Venice with cheap twinmos value ram
(divider at 150, htt at 270, so thats right at 200mhz ram w/ twinmos
default timings, cpu volts at 1.5 * 110%). My motherboard is running
the 3/10/05 bios and my PSU is an OCZ modstream 450. (By the way,
some of the twinmos ram was actually winbound UTT, mine is definitely
NOT that.)
However, once I put my OCZ ram in with the exact same setup, I get
random reboots and I can't get very far in the Windows XP install
before I encounter the BSOD. I even increased the ram voltage from
2.6v to 2.8v (only warranties to 2.8). I can't seem to find errors
in memtest. I'm essentially running the RAM at rated speeds at
approximately 202mhz. (BIOS settings are all at auto)
Are there any known compatibility issues between this ram and the DFI
motherboard? I'm very puzzled why the twinmos is more stable than
this ram. I can barely overclock using this ram on the DFI. I checked the DFI forums and didn't find anyone having specific problems with OCZ ram.
