Hi!

Im building a new rig and need an advice for PSU. The corsair and antec are not an option beause they are to expensive here (corsair 520HX is 150 euros, that`s arund 200+ dollars).

My options are link or link

Is any of them enough for q6600, p5k, 2xhdd`s 4x1 gb of ram, 1xdvd burner, 3xcase fans and 1x8800gt.

Are OCZ psu`s any good?

Where's "around here?"

Instead of linking to Newegg, where you're not going to end up buying it, can you link to the site in Europe you will be buying from so we can see what other choices you have?

FSP based units, like the Blue Storm and the OCZ, are cheaper for a reason. They're not bad, but they're not the best nor the best value.

But it has to be in the price range of 70-100 euros (prefer closer to 70e). So there is not much to choose Link, link, link

What about Tagan TG500-U33 - 2Force 500W?

There's some pretty good units there for 100 E or less.

What are you powering?

Q6600
asus p5k vanilla
1x 250gb hdd (2500KS)
4X1 GB DDR2 800mhz PATRIOT RAM at 1.8V
1XPHILIPS DVD BURNER
7900GS GPU at 1.3 V
3x case fan

I am planing to add one more hdd and change 79gs for 8800gt in the future, not planing to go sli/crossfire ever.

Can you please recommend a couple of them (100E or less) please. Would really appreciate it.

Those are both pretty good power supplies (made by Fortron) and would power your system with little problem. The OCZ Stealthstream has only half the connectors of the Gamestream or Fortron versions. As Fortrons seem available in your area, I would try for the Fortron 600GLN if possible, which has a fair bit more power, and are well regarded in their price range.

Sorry I didn't see the specs in the first post. Didn't recognize them in linear format like that.

Anyhoo... you've got some LC Power units there it looks. The Hyperion is a Channel Well unit. You can get the LC Power Hyperion LC8700 for 99,79 eur, it's modular, has 576W on the +12V rail. I'd say that's a good pick.

Yes, LC power units are very popular here (in slovenia). But do they have quality components? Because i wanna keep the psu for at least 2-3 years. The LC power 550W die alot and have bad caps i hear. Is hyperion series any better.

How does this FPS group epsilon 600W (95eur) compare to hyperion LC8700?

If I thought the FSP was better, I would've told you to just get the FSP (or OCZ, which is made by FSP.)

Tomorrow Im planing to buy LC hyperion 700W. I just have one quick question. Is it worth to add 27 eur more for this PC Power & Cooling 610W? But it only has 2 years of warranty and not 5y. Hyperion also has 2 years and i can get it for 95 eur.

You need to talk to somebody at PC Power & Cooling. I believe you could be mistaken in assuming it pnl;y has a 2 yr warranty...

Just because the site might say so doesn`t make it true!!

The store has only 2 yrs of warranty. The manufacturer has 5 yrs, but i wouldn`t wanna send a psu for rma from europe to USA. It would be expencive.

Anyway I will buy hyperion cause i have measured my case (450mm in lenght) and it would be a really tight fit with PC colling and power (18cm unit), my hdd is also in 5.25 bay so i don`t have any room to hide the extra non modular cables.

OCZ has an office in the Netherlands. All RMA's in Europe get shipped to this office. No need to ship to the US

Installed the hyperion 700W today. It looks like a solid psu, nice looking, quiet, have to measure the lines with multimeter. Hope it will last long.

I cant really recommend the OCZ stealthxtream.

I have the OCZ gamexstream which is the next level up. It had lasted a good 2 hours with my 680i asus board and twin 8800Gt in SLI configuration.

Its the usual rma efforts to get a replacements so i wont hold this against them but was utterly surprised logging into the ocz technology forum to find so many other people having the same problems with their psu...

Since i am financially commited to this psu, ill wait for the rma and use what i have but i would recommend getting something better if you can find it in your market. You can always go to these individual support forums for each manufacturer to gather a consensus for yourself.

best of luck...

For that price, go with the Corsair VX 550W from buy.com fro $68-shipped after $15 rebate. I have been looking around and researching PSU for my new comp for the last two weeks. I finally pulled the trigger on this unit today.

My bad, didn't catch part of the OP about Corsair not an option due to price.

I bought the hyperion 700W already, recommended by johnnyguru. So far im very happy with it. But, last week i found out that 550VX is available here for 93 eur. But i already bought the hyperion.

They are both CWT units, but 550VX probably has better components and 5year warranty, and hyperion only 2 years.
