Whats the difference between thiw to PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W black and PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W Red

Besides the first listed psu being black and the 2nd one being red, there isn't any difference that i see in the specs.

One is painted red and was consequently marketed as the "CrossFire edition".

They do the same thing with their RAM - different heatspreaders with either the Nvidia/SLI color motif, or the red CrossFire colors. Kind of tacky and screams fanboy to me (although in the case of the "SLI RAM", I assume they have modified SPD tables as well, so it's not simply 100% cosmetic in that case).

Meh.. and now it's up to 7. They keep increasing their warranty period. The doc said 3, but at the time I wrote the review it went up to 5. Some time this year they upped it to 7.

The Power Supplies are exactly the same. If it can run SLi then it can run crossfire and vice versa.

But ATI and Nvidia don't want a company to put both of their markings on the same PSU.

That is like asking if a red Corvette Z51 will go faster than a Black Corvette Z51. They are the same car, the only difference is the color.

You'd be quite surprised that there's NO spd difference between the "SLI" and Crossfire sticks....along with others:

Well.. I suppose those could be different because a lot of DFI boards regulate from +5V for RAM instead of +3.3V. Maybe there's additional filtering or regulation on the PCB or they've just been pre-tested to work in the super-sensitive-hyper-I-could-crash-if-you're-going-to-sneeze DFI boards.

Got this relay for OcZ

There is no difference between the two power supplies. The black one is the standard version and the red one is the Crossfire edition. The difference is only in color.

why would you need to? The fan isn't on the bottom anyway....

Doesn't the P182 have the screw holes arranged so you can put the PSU in either way?

it should be green and black to match my board, but it looks like normal sticks.

i dont like ocz ram, most of them have a too high voltage requirement for the higher end stuff, so you need to do the 1 stick boot trick and change voltage in bios.

The problem with upside down is most likely to be the screw holes in the case for securing the power supply. They are not at the four corners.

I don't have experience with the 900, but from looking at a picture, it looks too me like the holes on the case are aranged so that you can place the PSU in either direction.
