probably was the vendetta 2... 120 mm fan and cools a good chunk better...

that said, vendetta cools a q6700 @ 3.6 ok in a relatively poorly ventilated case without too much noise...

I bought the vendetta (92mm fan version/original) last week on a similar deal from zzf, dropped my cpu temps by 5 celsius as compared to the stock cooler that came with my phenom II x3 720 running at 3.4. Fan runs on low setting 99% of the time, so its quiet.

Well made, except for the retention bracket which is a piece of sh$t, the cam/lever mechanism couldn't be any cheaper unless it was made out of popsickle sticks.

Who is the rebate through? OCZ doesn't exactly have the best reputation for getting rebates out.....have seen too many threads about OCZ and denied rebates to be too comfortable with anything OCZ branded with a rebate to buy an OCZ product on price after rebate.

i have gotten back 50+ ocz rebates with no problems... they are even better now with 4myrebate, they come back faster...

people need to quit babbling about ocz rebates being a problem... if you do the stuff right, you get the rebate...

Maybe in your experience. Not in mine. Last rebate I had an issue with in the last three years was through OCZ and I make copies of EVERYTHING. I use a check-list and mark off each thing clearly on the rebate form to show each step was carefully followed to the letter.

I was told that the UPC I sent wasn't in the envelope for a memory purchase. That was simply untrue and they would not budge. And when you're 100% sure that a UPC was sent and they say it wasn't, there is nothing a customer can do except stop supporting their products.

For the record, this is the first time I've publicly complained about this, but I'm not going to sit by and watch someone proclaim that OCZ is infallible. I'm glad that user has had good experiences, but if there is a growing base of people that have had bad experiences, you can add my voice to that crescendo.

Lucifer Lost, a few years back I had a problem with OCZ rebates. As did quite a few others. The outsourced house that OCZ contracted was very sh!tty. Since OCZ got a different company to handle their rebates things have vastly improved. In the last year or so every one of my OCZ rebates have gone through no problem.
