OD managers have refused to pricematch for me before,I guess its up to the individual store manager.

Off topic here: I found quake III and unreal tournament (game of year edition) for $5 each , at staples (clearance software section) recently, after I had given them away as gifts I looked at other stores and couldn't find anymore..

Happy new year all!

These are some great deals! Too bad I already have enough joysticks laying around. My family would think I'm crazy if I buy more!

I wish that Sidewinder Gamepad was the original one, not the USB. The original has a little better directional pad and can be daisy-chained unlike the USB. I'm out of USB ports!:Q

Could anyone who got the MS Sidewinder Precision2 mail me the receipt? address: footfish78@hotmail.com
Have read a review on Tom's hardware about all the joysticks which gave MS Precision2 a good score. here

Really can't wait to get this nice joystick and enjoy the free AR CFS2.

Went to 2 ODs and one had all the joysticks but none of them were on sales. The other had the Precision2 (14.88) and the MS Gamepad (7.88) so I got one of each. They also had the Logitech Optical mouse for 9.88 (normally 24.99).

Hmmm, grab 2 blackhawk joysticks for 2.88 each but the MS josticks and gamepads are still original price. Anyone knows stores in Chicago have those clearance items? (Especially the wheelcontrol, MS joysticks/gamepad?) Thanks!

"Quick warning, MS's game port devices are not compatable with XP. Also note that even though all OD's stock is XP compatable, there are no new drivers online. Maybe they come loaded with XP? "

Thats not entirely true...

I have a Sidewinder (game port) for 2 years now. XP detects it perfectly, and it has all the button controlls working. Maybe the "Profiler" software has problems, but the controller itself, works flawlessly on a gameport off my SB card in XP Pro.

Got the Logitech Wingman + Tony Hawk 2 for 15 at OD in Berkeley, CA on Gilman and San Pablo.

They had a few Gravis flight stick units for 5 bucks too.

You are correct. Sorry.
However configuring the device for each game for advanced features and printing them out is sometimes quite a pain.

For those with problems.. there is an unethical solution. Force a "transfer" to a store that had them on discount. Get a friend to buy a full retail and return it at the store with a discount.
However if you intend to buy it once it hits the clearance center beforehand.. you're committing a crime.

I don't know about XP as I'm running win2k and find no reason to upgrade to XP, but I have an old microsoft sidewinder force feedback Pro that connects to a game port and it works perfectly with windows 2000. Even the force feedback works fine under windows 2000. I never had to install drivers for it because no drivers are needed for it as they are built into the operating system. Maybe that's why there are no drivers for download for win2k or XP. As I said before I don't really know if it's the same with XP but since XP is just the next version of windows 2000 with a prettier interface and a new name, I don't see why this wouldn't also be the case with XP also. I've had it for years now and it's been the best joystick I've ever owned.

$6 shipping to me, but if you buy more than one it becomes more bearable...

No go for me at two of the four OD's near me. One had the Sidewinder Game Pad Pro for $18.88 (or $8.88 after the $10 MS rebate) on the clearance table. The other one had all of the Logitech, Gravis, and Microsoft joysticks and gamepads, but all rang up the regualr price as marked. I was hoping to get a good deal on the Precision 2 joystick. Oh well.
