OD - Office Depot Deals - Just Go Check Your Local OD Out.

I picked up a Logitech Trackman Marble FX at OD about a week ago on clearance for $19.88 (reg $59). Went back the next day to buy for my friends since they had three more. Same clerk said, "Oh, the ones for $19.88? We don't have anymore...". You snooze, you lose.

Picked up 3-50 VHS storage wire frames from Fellowes (Mfg.# 7751187041) for 5.88 ea (list 31.98 ea.). One 92 CD wire frame storage from Fellowes ( mfg# 7751187003) for 3.88 (24.98 list).2-72 CD Tower from ??-its black plastic but looks OK (SKU# 820474) for 3.88 ea.(list 16.95). Bought a few other things I needed to push it to 50.00 and used a 15 off 50 coupon. I figured I got those 6 storage units for around 15.00 by using the coupon. Not bad if you need somewhere to put all your tapes and CD's.
The Blossom Hill store (San Jose)had 2 HP 5200CSE scanners for 69.95. When I went back to get it the one that wasn't opened was sold so I left the other that had been retaped. Still, using a 15 off 50 coupon brings it to 55.00. I didn't need it bad enough to buy the opened box. Pricewatch has this one Selling for around 135 plus shipping. HP is selling refurbs of this model for 109, so it's probably a good deal if anyone needs a scanner. Its USB/parallel port (dual).

Sorry bargshopper....I hit both the Arlington stores on Friday....also hit the Eastchase-I 30 store and the Irving store on Airport Freeway, the Arlington store off Cooper had a quite a selection of decent stuff....bought about 400.00 worth for 37.00 after coupon.....little tidbit of info....new Office Depot being built on Airport Freeway in Euless....between Denny's and Home Depot.....YEAAAAAAA!

Double Barrel Energizer flashlights are now down to 4.22....Picked up 4.

This is speculation, but i was at OD and saw a different 2-way radio (forgot brand) that had a $99.99 price tag on it, but had a green sticker. at my OD, they label clearance items with green stickers....i also noticed that all the "take one" sheets were gone, so i gues they were sold out....

can anyone confirm a price on this item?

I was told green stickers mean Out Of Stock..but the item can be reordered....this came from an employee I questioned when I was looking for the Garmin GPS about a month ago.....

Geez, I guess I am racing zwingle and bargshopper to the DFW stores.. I hit one of the arlington stores friday (randoll mill) and the ones at hulen and ridgemar as well. We need to team up so we don't keep wasting money hunting this stuff.

just went to OD to get me a laptop bag, and they had a samsonite laptop bag out on clearance....for $44.88, so i figured i would get the miscrosoft gamepad for $9.88 and get over $50 to get the $15 off coupon. All goes well, and i get back to my office, and start unpacking the laptop bag, and notice on the inside that it was earlier $22.88!!! so im taking it back...
I noticed that this office depot in baton rouge is cranking up prices on clearance items....to make a profit i guess....F them

found a Storm PageScan Pro sheetfed color scanner bundled with Pagis Pro 2.0 for $28. Storm is out of business, and the drivers are a little funky on Win98, but it works, and the price is right. It's not as cool as my Visioneer Strobe Pro, but the price is right (did I say that?)

The scanner comes apart so you can handscan books too!

Found it in the back of the Office Max...that's right, now I realize it was Office Max not OD...sorry, but it's still a good deal...it's late at nite.

I got the $30 credit yesterday, Thanks to OD manager, was very nice to give me the credit. Saw some more drives but the 17.6GB model, maybe some one want it? don't know how much it'll cost, but should be less than 45GB...

I always lift the "clearance" tag to see what was price was before.
In my area, some deals are compared to the manufacture list price, not the price OD was selling at before the "clearance". So some might look good, but arent really.

Two items I found on OD clearance tables today that I hadn't seen listed above:

Plantronics telephone headset with 2.5 mm plug: $5.88 ($49.99 MFR. LIST)
- Sales receipt shows item number: 9567301435 (doesn't appear to be a normal OD SKU)
- Clear plastic vacuum-formed package with printed insert card: "Headset for the CyberGenie PC Cordless Phone System, HS 34 (model no), Exclusive CyberGenie button, Versatile over-the-ear & headband styles (converts between both styles using accessory parts provided), Noise-canceling microphone for optimum speech recognition"
- Note: CyberGenie phones were apparently manufactured by Cygnion Corp., which reportedly declared bankruptcy last summer, so don't expect warranty service or tech support.
- Seems to work fine with my cordless phone having 2.5mm jack (CyberGenie button on line cord doesn't appear to interrupt or otherwise interfere with the connection, although I can hear an audible "click" when its depressed).
- Has appearance similar to Plantronics DuoSet® Noise-canceling Headset


Body Glove "Slingpack": $1.88 ($34.99 MFR. LIST)
- Sales receipt shows item number: 063799320766 (doesn't appear to be a normal OD SKU)
- Sort of a "lifestyle" product -- sling backpack as an alternative to waist pack. Stretchy neoprene and heavyweight nylon construction. Sling strap is intended to be worn over the shoulder and across the chest -- has neoprene "pocket" for cell phone and loop for clipping on a pager. Body of pack is triangular in shape and has three pockets (two zipper pockets, one mesh pocket without closure). Smaller of the two zip pockets would comfortably accommodate a Palm or other handheld device. Capacity of large pocket would accommodate a .5 litre water bottle and a couple of paperback books -- probably not large enough for textbooks.

I will let you in on a secret. People make money off this stuff. Don't expect them to leave one for you, or send you one at cost. Its like your boss asking you to work for free.

Maybe I am wrong, but I have never had anyone offer to sell me a hot deal at cost after I missed out.

I just got back from OD to check on the PDAs and The Casio PDA was $79.88 (regular= $99.99) and the HP handhelds were normal price.

When it comes to OD, each store is different. A "few" items will have "thread" prices, but each store manager decides what the prices will be in their store. None in my area will price match against another store, but they sure want to know "which" store is cutting prices so fast. Sometimes that isn't such a bad question, as last night a store manager let me know a couple other stores in my area that are either closing or cutting back..

A couple stores had the security camera stuff half price or better, but nothing I'm into. I did pick up a couple more 3M mouse pads at $0.98, and two game packs at $9.88 each Army Men 4 pack, and Millenium Edition (Civ2, Tomb Raider, Total Annihlation, Duke 3d, and Heavy Gear).

People are clearly buying this stuff up in quantity, as whole sections of "stuff" that I have seen on the clearance table for weeks, suddenly is gone. Btw at the stores with deals, VERY often the employees are openly talking about what they are buying, and the attitude of one of the store managers was that these deals were employee perks.

I found the Fellowes labeled Jabra Earsets (normally 39.99) for 3.88 in my local OD today. Otherwise very little. They were in the clearance table. I also found some in other OD's a few weeks ago. If anyone wants one I'll sell them for a reasonable profit, or just give them to friends as gifts.
