Well it’s a genuinely difficult problem to grapple with. Do you end democracy to save democracy?
The problem is democrats value the democratic system and republicans don’t.
Only a Hobbit can carry the One Ring. I see Biden as a million times more Hobbit than Trump. He can order a Presidential proclaim the President is not above the law and the Supreme Court ruling is null and void while appointing a 99 member court subject to ethical rules of replacement by the federal judiciary by the same ethics rules that apply to them. You know I believe in the doctrine of just war based on imminent threat and the principles of self defense. The use of force and only the minimum required is justified by situational ethics. A failure to prevent self haters from harming the innocent is a moral crime in my opinion. I am all for playing the game only up to the point of no return and no farther.
At heart conservatives are governed by fear and the avoidance of threat, including trying to eliminate it but only up to the point where they feel safe in such actions. They are psychological school yard bullies and you know the answer to that. A bloody nose. Anyway, my opinion. I know it won't change what is.
To be or not to be, is the question I think you are asking. Do we tolerate the intolerable? Do we fight or flee? How do you know the difference between right and wrong? What does it mean to be in the world but not of it?
A Zen Master wrote this on the death of his son:

It may be only a dew drop
And yet, and yet
