Fundamentally the problem is that he isn't going to be able to perform in such a way that derails this media train which itself is shaping the election for voters. Sure the press is basically doing Hillary's Emails on him at this point but the campaign/admin's own choices also brought them here. And obviously I'd prefer the Supreme Court didn't take their cues from the bible for the next 30-40 years, so I'm voting for that too.

I'm voting for policy and to keep Trump/the right wing crazies out of power. This desire is not beholden to any particular candidate unreasonably which is why whoever emerged from the 2020 Dem primary was getting my vote. If Biden retains the nomination for 2024 or it's somebody else same thing. My preference here would be for Biden to say I've done my duty and respectfully pas the baton. Biden's done a good job and he should take a victory lap in the process but acknowledge the reality that he's gotten older and that a change is desired, a position that he will respect.

Unfortunately it's all about the person for most of the public. Celebrity worship, everyone wants a big daddy hero when this is really about hiring a good administrator.

All that said--the reality is that you need a good candidate, not just a good President as much as I hate that fact. Obama was a top-level candidate. I felt candidate Biden was too old in 2020, not so much for those four years but for this election knowing Trump was going to run again. It was a big gamble to think an 80+ year old person was going to have the energy to campaign....and here we are. If there's blame, it's on the voting Democrats who elected a 78 year old person. How many 78 year olds do you work with that that you'd expect to still be working with 8 years later?

Not that its any 100% guarantee of mental fitness, but I'd honestly like an upper age limit to go with the younger one for President. One might have hoped St. Ronnie's second term would have been a warning shot. Too bad there isn't a morals/ethics clause to go with it, that would rule out Trump in a heartbeat....

But just to be clear, I'll be voting for whoever or whatever has a (D) next to its name. Because that's the only possible alternative to Trump 2.0.
