There is a combo deal for this processor and some really nice motherboards on Newegg right now. You can't use this code, but it's probably a better deal.

There's a Tforce board with this chip for $99. no free shipping, but the board by itself if $80 - and shipping is like $8. There is also a Gigabyte combo for $105. Again no free shipping, but the board is $85. You'll save a few bucks over the deal this way, but these are pretty nice motherboards. 780 or 790 chipsets, gigE, PCIe, the gigabyte has E-SATA, 16GB RAM support, 5/6 internal SATA.

Just go to the CPU, and look at "all combo deals". The Tforce is good through the 20th.

What am I missing here? The BE-2400 has a 1000HT bus. Don't you have to have DDR2-1000 for this processor?

nope, just drr2, the motherboard will just automatically use a divider if you have the slower ddr2 memory.

What does the "BE" stand for?

A designation indicating a low wattage chip from AMD.

Thanks Zap. Received the CPU yesterday combo'd with a Biostar Tforce 780G MATX board. Setup went without any issues at all. Seems very fast and I can't believe how cool this cpu runs.

I have a 4400+ Brisbane (same CPU basically just the 65W instead of 45W) and it hit 3GHz without issue and just a slight voltage bump.

which is faster this or a E6300 core2duo???

there pretty close huh???

Probably not worth the hassle of switching to this new rig.

I can't get the E6300 to overclock at all.

I just bought one too, with working coupon code. Nice deal. Note, that it is a shellshocker today, so quantities are limited, and the price will expire at 5pm PDT.

How about this one. Under $10 if you have a Microcenter nearby.

OCZ Vanquisher CPU Cooler

looks good, but nope i ain't got no nothing nearby, used to have 3 CompUSA's but they all closed, MC is like 180 miles away and thats the closets major computer store around these parts.

I am tempted to open my own computer store, if i had any money thats is.

It is unbelievable the amount of $ regular folks are willing to pay for parts at retail electronic/computer stores.

Got mine today, seems mine wont go over 220 at 11.5 multiplier and stock voltage, but was able to get up to 240x11 = 2.64 ghz.

I may mess around with voltage a little to see what I can squeeze out of it , but out of time for now.
