Are there any good driving games (a la grand tourismo...realistic)

Project Gotham Racing 3 and Test Drive:Unlimited are the closest to "realistic" until Forza 2 comes out.

The rest is up to your personal tastes.

I've been playing Gears of War for the last few days.... WOW... what a game... great to showcase the abilities of the 360 right off the bat.

I'm a madden junkie, so that was the obvious first game I bought.

fight night is good if you like that kind of thing. I also like Saints Row (similar to GTA) and GOW.

Burnout Revenge is a great smash em racer and i think its only like 40 bucks. Great online play too.

im super addicted to it. so maybe you shouldnt get it, unless you have lots of time.

R6 Vegas has great online
Oblivion for gameplay
NBA 2K7 for Basketball
Madden is your only choice for football
PGR3 and Test Drive are great
Gears Of War is short!
Dead Rising is a pretty good game

R6:Vegas is probably one of the best games out at the moment. Tons of online options and a pretty difficult single player campaign.

Oblivion is very good also.

GoW is fun, but lost interest due to limited online modes/short campaign. Although the campaign is VERY fun especially on coop.
