well.. this news is gonna get the metal-head heavy rockband and scorehero forums in an uproar.. .but I think overall this is going to be great for Rock Band and the average Rock Band player. The songs are bound to sell well, even if the kids out there don't appreciate it.... and they should be a lot of fun to play, even without the high degree of difficulty. Rock Band is already a great party song and now you add the Beatles and get songs like "shout" or "you say it's your birthday", etc.... there are so many well known popular Beatles songs.

I agree with the above poster though... I hope it's not an AC/DC type of deal.

I'm pretty amazed that they managed to pull the Beatles in to this though when you can't even get their stuff on i-tunes. Good job there
Now if they could get Zeppelin to sign on... lol.

edit: I stand corrected, there seems to be much joy and excitement on the rockband and scorehero forums. Usually those forums seem to get dominated by metalheads who think any song with recognizable lyrics sucks, or people who think that if the song isn't the hardest in the game then it's too easy.... didn't think either of those groups would enjoy the Beatles too much

That's pretty cool about the beatles. I noticed they just released a bunch of tracks from Nevermind, with the exception of Smells like teen spirit, come as you are, and Lithium. Why would they leave 3 of the best songs from the cd out?

You asked the question in the other locked thread but they stated it is not Rock Band branded but will use some elements of the RB platform but will be a different game.

I imagine though that it will be pretty much like RB.

I just saw Queasy's quote in another thread saying the same thing... that really sucks that it's NOT rock band... but i'm confused by the other articles then. Is this still being done by harmonix/EA? But yet it's not rock band? If that's the case, I can only assume that they didn't want their music to be importable into the rock band game like AC/DC will be.... and that really sucks.

I imagine Beatles demanded their own game but it will be very similar to RB. I imagine instead of World Tour, it'll be Beatles through their career.

They said instruments will be compatible.

Not many details but they said it won't be out till next Winter anyway.

Yeah... all 2 of them?

This sounds just like GH: aerosmith to me. I'm sure they'll be more original so they want to stay away from the RB name so people don't have certain expectations. But I'm assuming the mechanics of gameplay are going to remain the same, even if the visuals and how you play through a career are completely different.

I saw that today. As much as AC/DC rocks I'm not sure I'm willing to shell out 40 bucks for 17 songs (18 if you count the one that's already in RB2).

Why would you count the one already in the game? You have that one already, so it's $40 for 17 songs... period.

I hope the AC/DC one doesn't sell very well. Everyone already would have to have the full rock band set obviously, so why wouldn't they just make the songs DLC? It just doesn't make sense.

It makes perfect sense unfortunately. Harmonix can't just do what they want with band's copyrighted music. Certain bands are really hard to deal with.

It has been widely reported that ACDC doesn't sell their songs as singles and doesn't like digital distribution which is why the pack comes out like this.

I can see how people don't like it but I don't really think Harmonix can be blamed. They are in a tough position because if they won't release it, everyone knows GH will and then Harmonix loses another good band. Personally I'd rather have them on Rockband.

If the tracks weren't downloadable into RB2 then I wouldn't have gotten it.

One could argue that that song counts because this is a live version of the song. Just like we had the Working Man cover, followed by Working Man Vault for RUSH DLC... and again there was Tom Sawyer in the original Rock Band followed by the Tom Sawyer DLC in the Moving Pictures release. Same song, but different versions...

I'm not sure i'm willing to go there with that argument, but some may

It is a very different and imo better version but yeah I'd rather not have 2 versions of the same song.

OK whoever came up with the guitar note track for Breed should be executed. It's probably 10x harder to play that stupid rhythm than it is to play on a real guitar.

I got the RB2 cymbals last night and I think they are great. They aren't missing notes or double hitting. It has made drumming more fun so far.
