I bring it up to make people like you look dumb, and also whiny rich brats look dumb.

I know that teams can cut players, and leave them with no money owed to them, but that means that they need to collective bargain that out, if possible.

They know that they can be cut after the team's obligation is fulfilled, that's why you save your money and actually plan for the future so you will be in a position to absorb the impact.

This isn't slavery...guys are well-paid.

You know a player can sign a 4 year contract and get cut the next day right. The only money he will ever see is the signing bonus part right? But, if a player signs a 4 year contract he must play the whole contract out? Does that seem fair to you?

You keep repeating the same thing over and over like a perpetual turrets loop. But you haven't addressed whether you bevieve in Capatlism or who/what should determine what is fair compensation. I'm sure some poor homeless person would look at you making say 45k a year, say you are well paid and wonder why should you be stressing about raises or making more.

And because you can't make an intellectual logical defense of it, it most likely means your position is intellectually dishonest and inconsistent so you rely on a purely emotional argument of how "much" he makes.

Teams don't just cut productive players for no reason. Additionally, this is well-known in the NFL.

Save your money, prepare for it, or use the next CB session to change this.

Players coming in know the odds of making a team and getting a contract. It incumbent on THEM to have a secondary plan.

You keep repeating the same thing over and over like a perpetual turrets loop.

Because you're acting like players are treated like slaves.

But you haven't addressed whether you bevieve in Capatlism or who/what should determine what is fair compensation.

I believe employers can pay whatever they deem a player is worth to them, and I believe players should be able to negotiate for more.

I'm sure some poor homeless person would look at you making say 45k a year, say you are well paid and wonder why should you be stressing about raises or making more.

45k is a far cry from 4.2 million/yr (which Kam is making per year).

But if I accept that salary, then I shouldn't whine when I have to accept that salary.

And because you can't make an intellectual logical defense of it, it most likely means your position is intellectually dishonest and inconsistent so you rely on a purely emotional argument of how "much" he makes.

Difference is you can get more from any other place anytime, he can not. Also the team can demand a pay cut or just cut him from the team anytime. Until contracts are guaranteed in the NFL I have no problem with what he did.

Oh, those poor slave-driven, underpaid millionaire football players...how cruel of NFL teams.

But this is why they have agents and negotiations. Look at the NBA, for example -- some players have agents with enough foresight to advise their clients to wait for a better deal.

Sure its risky, but that's why agents exists for you. And, its not like he's making minimum wage and can't feed his family.

Also the team can demand a pay cut or just cut him from the team anytime. Until contracts are guaranteed in the NFL I have no problem with what he did.

Two words: "Collective Bargaining". When its time for a new agreement, players should try to get guaranteed contracts.

Until then, save your money, don't buy 3 Bentley's knowing you can be cut...

Before we all start to talk stupid about contracts yet again, none of the major US sports have language in their CBAS that require universal contract guarantees.

On the positive side, Murray leaves practice early with a hamstring tweak, can only hope it's a at least 1 game missed.

Just saw on SC Murray possibly out for the Eagles with a hand injury suffered during practice...?? What a bunch of crap. He's still bitter about the terrible game they had against the Cowboys and just doesn't want to play so he'll make some shit up.

Thought this would be the Falcons first lose but after Romo and other injuries I see a 3-0 for the Birds.

They still need to work on their defense and O-line but still better than last year

I'm with you but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they can pull it off. Wheedon didn't look awful (in fact, looked good for the short time), Terrance Williams is a good 2nd wide out, and Randall is getting 3.4 yards/carry.

Obviously we're down, but the backups in those positions aren't bad.

I'd still bet the Falcons win.

edit: Even with the injuries, I'm more worried about Atlanta's O vs. our D... I don't think we can cover Jones with 2 guys which means we need our D line to decimate their O line.

If only there was some collective way to bargain an agreement which could change that. The players could come together showing unity.

If only...

Yeah, you tell me how fair collective bargaining is to players who have no money and earning potential limited compared to owners who are billionaires.

Lol.

Cry me a river....

So, your basically saying the more wealth someone has the less rights they should? And in turn by it being a zero sum game, taking away the rights of the players in fact empowers the owners who are even wealthier.

Can we get back to talking about football again?

I'm really torn about the Lions/Denver game. The D-line for Detroit is going to cause Manning a lot of issues, but we might still see another game where the Denver D makes up for it. Gonna be another tough one to watch offensively

When you start using words like "fair" and "no money" in a conversation pertaining to millionaires verses billionaires, you automatically lose credibility.

In all seriousness, I don't know what football team you're speaking about -- the Lions have allowed an 80% pass completion percentage this season, and have something around 4 sacks this season.

They're getting NO pressure on the QB.

but we might still see another game where the Denver D makes up for it. Gonna be another tough one to watch offensively

LOL - Denver's gonna score 50, if the Lions have any pride left, they'll win this game.

Our oline is garbage, and Stafford may need to be carried off in an EMS come Sunday night.

Well in all honesty I haven't been able to watch the lions yet this year, so I may be basing this off of my previous opinions.

You have to forgive the actual Boston team fans. They're a lot like Massachusetts drivers in general: They can't accept criticism of any sort with grace or dignity.

I don't think that was an over the top response, did he go on a rant "well your a F-ing moron, you know shit!". He gave a factual response. When Welker went down they tried to use Edelman to replace him in a playoff game, the results were rather sad. Dude went back to square one, gained a lot of muscle through working out, gained a lot of quickness as well coming in and out of his breaks, Then he's at the stadium at 5 AM many days catching balls from the juggs machine for hours at a time, he literally willed himself to be an NFL star receiver, he was drafted out of Kent State as a second-string QB. for anyone to claim his success is built on "pushing off" on every play is laughable, that's a penalty and he has been called zero times for it.
