Yup, that was a pretty ridiculous game from the officiating side. That clock runoff was accurate because it wasn't a real timeout, but then why did they call it one? It's just confusing

by rule it is an excess timeout ... it helped the Pats by stopping the clock

and the 1972 dolphins pop their champagne

The way the Ref's were calling this game, (and our own huge gaffe with the muffed punt) I didn't think we were going to come out of here with a win, it just sucks to see a great team whittled down to the bone with this many severe injuries. With Gronk, Edeleman, Amendola, Hightower, Lewis all gone there is no way to mount a challenge in the playoff's.

The Pats had a timeout and they were also at the line ready to go when the excess time out was called(About 10 seconds had already run). So they would have just snapped the ball. By running the clock that way it actually cost the Pats an extra play.

That officiating was a terrible way to end a teams undefeated season.

Fun game. The Broncos deserved to win after the Pats screwed it up with the punt catch but seriously that is the worst officiated game I have seen in a long time.

Meh.. the Pats have gotten more calls in their favor than any other team I can think of in history.. yeah they got some bad ones tonight against them but that was one of the first intentional groundings I have seen called on Brady this whole season, add the tuck rule that never applied to Peyton even once and they finally got their dues.

Broncos have a thing about tripping up the Pats, Elway was 11-0 against them, they stopped the 3-peat SB, and the Mile high record is almost perfect against Brady, now the perfect season ender, cause the rest of the Pats schedule is a joke.

Yea but what DIDN'T help the Pats were the most borderline contact getting called against the Pats and to see Lafelle CLEARLY held by the arm and unable to make the catch it goes uncalled. That being said credit is due to the Broncos who wore down the Pats D all game long and Anderson in particular having a monster game.

FYI that same "tuck" rule cost us a game vs the Jets earlier in that season. Add in the Raiders had other chances after that ruling but didn't make the plays to win the game.

Sorry, but the Pats get a lot of calls in their favor. That is simply a fact, been witness to that for years. Brady is the Kobe of the NFL, pampered and taken care of most of the time. Peyton should have had the tuck rule apply in the Ravens game 3 years ago but he was wearing the wrong number for it to apply.

borderline calls.. sometimes they go your way other times they dont. I am sure borderline calls have helped the Pats win games too. You can say that about all teams
