I was over at 2 office Depots today and in there clearence they had some nice 128, 256, and 256 sticks of misc PC2100 - PC2700, and for notebook or Desktop. I think theses were the prices:

Desktop:
512MB PC2700 - $40
256Mb PC2100 - $20
128MB PC2100 0 $15

Notebook:
256MB PC2100 - $30 - $40
128MB PC2100 - $20 - $30

Now if you are into the belkin stuff I forget the name it's the deive that let's you run 2 computers on 1 keyboard/mouse/screen. They rang up as $.01 each. So if you have on local to you I would suggest checking it out!

I live in Kansas city Area, there is one by 95th and metcaf and one near oak park mall. Those are the 2 I went to!

Find someone in the KC/Shawnee Mission Area here on the forums to pick it up for you. It's at the one next to oak park mall and should be on the table straight ahead when you walk in. There are some ATI Radeon 7000's for $20 or 40 bucks, 32MB. Can't remeber the price. There are alos ALOT of the sims expansions there for $8+, some other games under $15 such as mdeal of honor, blackhack down.

No, if it can handle DDR then sure. But SDRAM I don't think it will take. There is a possibility there is a PC133 stick at the oak park one, I think I was 1 256MB one.

Most (but not all, save Rambus and RDRAM) recent desktop ram in the past few years - as well as most current desktop ram - is of the SDRAM variety. That said, PC100/PC133 ram sockets cannot accomodate PC2100 DDR or anything higher, as pin configuration is entirely different (168 pins for PC100/PC133 v 184 pins for PC2100 DDR and higher).

I was actually talking about laptop modules. My laptop takes 144pin sodimm pc133 modules, just wondering if the pc2100 was backward compatible.

Much the same response. PC100/PC133 SODIMMs make use of 144 pins, while PC2100 DDR (and higher, of course. as long as still in the SDRAM genre) SODIMMs make use of 200 pins.

local OD was also clearing out the kingston but prices were not as nice: think it was around $60 for 512 of PC2700 and $35 for 256.

It's KVM which stands for Keyboard Video Mouse I think.

Thanks for the deal!
