I work for OfficeMax here in Burlington, NC. Here's all the information you want:

Western Digital 120GB External Hard Drive
7200 RPM
USB 2.0 (IT IS A 2.0, NOT 1.1 - I WORK THERE, I'VE SEEN THE PRODUCT, IT IS 2.0)
Supports Firewire as well

For those of you who wanted the SKU# (Item Number), it is as follows: 2073-1905

This hard drive is not on the clearance flyer, it is on the in-store flyer. At my location anyway...I realize it may very from place to place.

Now, if you'll excuse me, my employer opens in 15 minutes....and I need to go claim my hard drive

I didn't think it was 1.1 either. Last weekend I transferred 80 gigs of stuff to my brother's computer through USB 1.1 (his USB port speed) and it took 24 hrs.

So, a 120GB USB 1.1 drive has almost no practical purpose: Too much capacity for such a slow transfer rate.

I tried calling their 800 number. The item is discontinued and cannot be ordered for delivery. They might let you order it for in-store pickup if there is one available at a local store. Call and try your luck.

I just went in to pick mine up. Due to the incompetence of our logistics manager, I was denied.

It is the USB2.0/Firewire enabled drive that is on clearance and discontinued - my store had none left (the logisitics manager told me and another associate at work last night that we had two and she would put them in the hold section with our information). So basically, I got F'ed in the A.

Of course, this being OfficeMax, this is not uncommon. If they have a good deal in an add, 90% chance is they don't have it in the store. I'm getting pretty tired of this bait and switch BS.

Just went and picked up two of the Western Digital Hard Drives. $69.00 each. The guy on the floor said they had none in stock. I asked the cashier to run the item code and see what their inventory showed. She said they had three. I made them dig around and came up with two. Thankns for the post.

I went to officemax store in Walpole, MA this afternoon to get the WD 120G external hard drive, they actually gave me a different model with UPC 718037105604 instead of the one on their in store special flyer for the same price of $69. The good thing is that it also printed out a rebate form of $30 with this one. So here is the math: $69 + tax - $30 rebate = $43.45. With this price on an external 120G hard drive, it is steal. After went back, I have checked the information on the original HD, it's SKU# 2073-1095 with $119 price tag, which is actually discontinued product, it has both Firewire/USB2.0 interface. The one I got has only USB2.0 interface but has a $179 price tag. Officemax rebate center actually has the rebate link on this item. Check your local store, you might be lucky to get this drive dirty cheap. Good luck!

I went to OM in Colorado Springs, couldn't find the sale unit, asked a employee who turned out to be an assistant manager who found no stock on the special, but pulled out the WD external 120GB USB2 (not USB/FireWire combo). She delved further into the computer and declared it as something like $159 (less $30 MIR) as best I recall. So getting this at the $69 special prices would be a real plum - and you'll still get the $30 MIR if they sell it to you!

So, if they're out of the sale unit (USB/FireWire combo) get a low-level clerk, ask lotsa questions and look dumb and maybe they'll mark the USB-only unit down for you, no such luck for me.

Called my local OM 20 min ago...2 in stock @ Cerritos. Had to run/speed to get one.. No rebate printed for me though

WOW...search rebates on OM website, came up with a 30$ rebate valid till sept 12th.
Making it a total of 74.69-30 = 44.69. Hot deal if you can find anymore.

Apparently, my local OM is a hub for discontinued items. I don't know how many more they have but I have mine here now. It comes with a USB 2.0 cable and a 4-pin to 4-pin 1394 cable both 6' long.

Thanks, OP.
